Riyadh Fashion Week 2024 is back from October 17 to 21. This second edition brings the energy and aspirations of Saudi Arabia’s fashion scene to the forefront. Although still finding its place globally, the event offers a platform for over 30 local designers. Their collections will give audiences a glimpse into the region’s evolving style and creativity. With 28 runway shows across five days, Riyadh is ready to showcase its growing fashion identity.
A RISING FASHION SCENE
Launched in 2023, Riyadh Fashion Week quickly made a mark as a promising new addition to the international fashion calendar. The inaugural edition saw the King Abdullah Financial District transformed into a stylish runway, with local and international fashion enthusiasts tuning in to catch the emerging designers’ collections. The debut event featured standout names like Ashi Studio, 1886, and Yousef Akbar, setting a compelling tone for future editions.
Now in its second year, the Saudi Fashion Commission aims to build on the initial success. It seeks to elevate Riyadh’s fashion profile while keeping the focus on local talent. “We’re committed to celebrating the creative spirit of over 30 designers,” said Burak Cakmak, CEO of the Fashion Commission. “Our goal is to position Riyadh as a dynamic fashion destination.”
SHOWCASING DIVERSITY ACROSS FIVE DAYS
Spanning five days, Riyadh Fashion Week 2024 will be an immersive experience featuring a range of styles from couture to streetwear. Although the venue remains a mystery, organizers hint at exciting locations across the city. Each day will present a distinct set of runway shows, offering a variety of looks that reflect the depth of Saudi design.
This year’s lineup features a mix of established names and emerging talents. Designers such as Tima Abid, Yahya AlBishari, and Abadia will be showcasing their collections alongside rising stars like Waad AlOqaili and Eman Joharhy. By focusing on Arab designers and avant-garde looks, Riyadh Fashion Week aims to give voice to regional creativity, while presenting styles that are as diverse as they are inspiring.
