Paris Design Week 2025 Key Events

This September, as the city shakes off the summer haze, Paris reaffirms its status as the global nucleus of design. From September 4-13, the 2025 edition of Paris Design Week, celebrating its fifteenth anniversary under the theme “Régénération” (Regeneration), transforms the capital into a sprawling open-air museum of contemporary creativity. Syncing with the trade behemoth Maison&Objet at the Parc des Expositions Paris Nord Villepinte, the week serves as a call for renewal and sustainable transformation.

Following a record-breaking year that drew a quarter-million international visitors, this year’s program is a curated journey into the most compelling dialogues between heritage and audacity, materiality and metaphor. From established design houses to off-the-beaten-path destinations like the artist residency Poush in Aubervilliers, these are the unmissable exhibitions defining the week.

Vert Nuit, Noir Jade

📅 September 1–9, 2025 📍 Galerie Wilde, 4 rue François Miron, 75004

This collective exhibition unites the talents of La Villa du Lavoir under an evocative chromatic theme. Exploring the spectrum from deep night green to jade black, the presentation unfolds as a sensitive dialogue between singular practices, bound by a shared mastery of material, light, and form.

Glass in Rebellion at the Swedish Institute

📅 September 3–21, 2025 📍 Swedish Institute, 11 rue Payenne, 75003

The Swedish Institute presents Blazing Grace, an exhibition that challenges a century of Swedish glassmaking traditions. Five rebellious artists: Fredrik Nielsen, Maria Bang Espersen, Hanna Hansdotter, Peter Hermansson, and Kirsten Vikingstad Hermansson, shatter the codes of Swedish Grace with works that drip, explode, and twist. Moving beyond smooth, transparent perfection, their glass cracks, warps, and even incorporates automotive paint. This provocative showcase celebrates material experimentation where nothing is forbidden, transforming poetic glass into pop-art statements. An opening reception will be held on September 3 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
