Amiri Introduced His Fall-Winter 2021 Collection Through a Captivating Video on the Fourth Street Viaduct

From a small business owner to a renowned fashion designer, Mike Amiri has definitely left his mark on the fashion world over the past few years – and its collections never cease to impress. In this stunning show that challenges the rules, Amiri pays tribute to the cultural history of Downtown LA, the district of fashion and arts where he had his first studio back in 2009.
The Autumn-Winter 2021 menswear collection was introduced by a video show that took place on the iconic Fourth Street Viaduct that spans the Los Angeles River, a location that according to the designer, is ideal because it does not belong to the stereotypical idea that we often have of L.A. With its urban nightlife cinematic vision, the show was directed by producer Cara Stricker and soundtracked by four tracks from The Roots curated by Mike Amiri.
Drawing inspiration from free-form jazz, rock’n roll, and hipster lifestyle, this collection reflects the contemporary trends and diversity of LA. On the runway, we can see opulent materials, flared pants, brushed mohair, soft cashmere, faux-animal fur, leather trench coats, and dandy tartan coats. The pieces are a mix of fabrics, patterns, and heterogeneous styles that all form a coherent, powerful, and trendy whole.

ABOUT THE HOUSE
Founded in 2014, AMIRI is the definition of the American dream. Its creator, Mike Amiri, began his career handcrafting stage pieces for famous rock artists. This led the Iranian designer to create an exclusive capsule collection for the LA-concept store, Maxfield, marking the launch of his eponymous luxury fashion line, AMIRI.
The brand grew exponentially since then and is now known for its extravagant, handcrafted vibe. 70% of the brand’s production is based in Los Angeles and the rest of it in Italy. For the designer, it is important to support the community by keeping the production local, and by working alongside craftsmen families.
