BOTTEGA VENETA SALON 03 COLLECTION : A BLEND OF ITALIAN LUXURY AND THE ENDLESS CREATIVITY OF THE MOTOR CITY!

This is not the first time, the fashion house Bottega Veneta abandons the Milanese catwalks to present its shows. After acts 1 and 2 in London and Berlin, the Italian brand had set foot in the city of Detroit on October 21, 2021 to revive the format of high fashion shows with a twist that is both contemporary and urban.

If Bottega Veneta remained on the sidelines of Fashion Week this edition, it is not without reason. The luxury house wanted to mark a big blow with a masterful Spring/Summer 2022 show to prevail on the originality. To this effect, it chose the city of Detroit to unfold the hostilities. This ceremony with symbolic character has also seen the participation of many celebrities. These include Mary J. Blige, Slowthai, Burna Boy, Kehlani and Lil Kim.

In this show, Salon 03‘ Creative Director Daniel Lee drew on his own roots in Leeds industry and Detroit’s history of car manufacturing to create a collection that draws on a shared past with a sprinkle of American flair. 55 mixed looks opened with an all-white runway show, from casual shirt-dresses to knitted tracksuits to a white cowl-neck dress that recalled Marilyn Monroe’s famous seven-year-old demon moment. From more and more high-tech materials to biodegradable rubber boots and the season’s flagship color, the new green, between techno fluo and nature’s call.

The Salon 03 presentation was launched alongside The Firehouse in Detroit, a new and creative retail space by Bottega Veneta in collaboration with local artists and musicians in the city. The Firehouse will be home to a number of pop-ups and installations, including some by the Detroit-based Underground Music Academy.
