Bulgari’s Goldsmithing Heritage in Dialogue with Etruscan Art at the National Etruscan Museum

June 28, 2025- Bulgari x Castellani Exhibition at the Etruscan Museum in Rome

In the heart of Rome, Bulgari is illuminating history with its latest collaboration at the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia. Running from June 24 to August 31, 2025, the maison unveiled an exhibition marrying the ancient art of Etruscan goldsmithing with Bulgari’s iconic designs. This partnership marks a restoration of light and legacy. Bulgari’s signature savoir-faire meets the masterpieces of Italy’s rich heritage. A transformation of the Museum itself is underway, with new lighting that enhances the museum’s collections while highlighting Bulgari’s creations alongside the timeless art of the Castellani family.

The National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia is one of Rome’s most treasured cultural institutions. Housed in a beautiful Renaissance villa built by Pope Julius III, the Museum showcases the incredible legacy of the Etruscan civilization, which thrived in central Italy long before the rise of Rome. The Museum’s collection includes ancient Etruscan jewelry, Roman frescoes, and the Castellani Collection.

The Bulgari Heritage Collection shines next to the Castellani Collection, a historic assembly of over 5,000 pieces that have captivated collectors for centuries. The Castellanis were pioneers in reviving Etruscan techniques, and Bulgari’s role in this exhibition pays homage to the shared values of refinement, technical excellence, and cultural passion that link the two collections. Among the highlights is Bulgari’s Monete Doppio Cuore Necklace. This striking piece from 1984 features a Greek coin in silver, gold, and hematite. The necklace reflects Bulgari’s deep connection to historical artistry.

Bulgari Casts a New Light on Ancient Treasures

At the core of this collaboration is the relamping project that Bulgari has spearheaded. The lighting overhaul in the Sala dei Sette Colli, Sala di Venere, and Sala degli Ori Castellani rooms will breathe new life into the Museum’s already impressive collection. The Museum’s Etruscan jewelry and Roman frescoes are now bathed in a fresh glow, thanks to the careful restoration of light. This intervention by Bulgari ensures that visitors will experience the full impact of these ancient treasures as they were meant to be seen, vivid and full of life.

Bulgari actively participates in cultural preservation. Through its Cultural Volunteer Program, employees engage with the Museum’s daily operations. Volunteers assist with activities, including digital archiving and maintaining the villa’s greenery. This program ensures Bulgari’s ongoing contribution to the Museum’s success and preservation.
