Here are the art events you should not miss this October:

CRÉDIT MUNICIPAL DE PARIS FASHION EXHIBITION (October 11-12)

This exhibition showcases iconic luxury items from brands like Hermès, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton. Later, they will all be auctioned. Fashion lovers, this is your chance to see and bid on legendary pieces.


CARSTEN HÖLLER’S MUSHROOM INSTALLATION AT PLACE VENDÔME (October 11 – November 24)

Meanwhile, Carsten Höllers surreal mushroom sculptures are transforming Place Vendôme. This free installation invites visitors into an immersive art experience that is sure to impress.


PRIVATE CHOICE (October 11-22) at 40 rue Paul Valéry, 75016 Paris

Explore Private Choice this autumn at 40 rue Paul Valéry in the 16th arrondissement, a historic home once occupied by Berthe Morisot and Paul Valéry. This serene location offers an intimate setting for contemporary art.

Curated by Nadia Candet, the exhibition spans four floors, featuring over 40 French and international artists. The collection includes contemporary artworks and design pieces, all available for purchase.

In November, a special photography edition will follow, continuing the exclusive art experience.


JAMES TURRELL’S EXHIBITION AT GAGOSIAN (October 14)

James Turrell’s largest European exhibition in 25 years will open at Gagosian’s Le Bourget location. It features immersive light installations, including “All Clear” and “Either Or.” These captivating works explore light, space, and perception.


JOE BRADLEY’S POP-UP EXHIBITION: “NATURALISMS” (October 15-18)

AKAA – ALSO KNOWN AS AFRICA (October 16-20, 2024)

At Carreau du Temple, AKAA celebrates its 9th edition. This contemporary art fair focuses on African art and its diasporas, with special emphasis on connections with the Americas and the Caribbean.


OFFSCREEN ART FAIR (October 16-20, 2024)

OFFSCREEN returns to the Grand Garage Haussmann. The fair features image-based works by avant-garde artists, both historical and contemporary. This edition honors experimental filmmaker Chantal Akerman.


MODERNE ART FAIR 2024 (October 17-20)

Located at Place Clemenceau, this fair features renowned artists like Bruno Catalano, Andrea Roggi, and Frank Hollywood. It’s a chance not only to experience contemporary works but also to meet the artists in person.


ASIA NOW – PARIS ASIAN ART FAIR (October 17-20, 2024)

THE SALON BY NADA AND THE COMMUNITY (October 17-20)

Held in a former SNCF training center, this new art fair highlights emerging galleries. Expect 46 galleries showcasing art, music, fashion, and publishing in a dynamic space in Paris’s 10th arrondissement.


CONVERSATIONS AT THE PETIT PALAIS (October 17-19)

Attend thought-provoking talks by artists and curators at the Petit Palais. Highlights include discussions on museum evolution, alternative art valuation, and transgression in contemporary art. These panels feature renowned voices like Nil Yalter and other global experts.


ART BASEL PARIS (October 18-20)

Held at the iconic Grand Palais, Art Basel Paris will showcase works from 195 galleries across 42 countries. With 27% more exhibitors than last year, expect a mix of contemporary art, installations, and emerging talent. The Oh La La! initiative will showcase rarely-seen art on October 18 and 19. LESAGE: 100 YEARS OF FASHION AND DECORATION

Open until January 5, 2025, at Le19M, this exhibition celebrates a century of haute couture embroidery by Maison Lesage. It highlights the craftsmanship that has shaped luxury fashion. Indeed, it’s a must-see for fashion lovers.


ARTE POVERA EXHIBITION (October 9, 2024 – January 27, 2025)

Meanwhile, the Arte Povera exhibition at the Bourse de Commerce explores this influential Italian movement. The show features works by artists like Alighiero Boetti and Michelangelo Pistoletto. Additionally, it focuses on everyday materials and their impact on contemporary art.
