A Private Château, A Michelin-Starred Feast, And A Night That Pairs Elegance With Effervescence

May 30, 2025- Moët & Chandon Opens Trianon’s Dinners this Summer

There’s dinner, and then there’s Les Dîners du Trianon. For the first time ever, Moët & Chandon invites you into its once-private residence — the legendary Trianon — for an evening that’s part culinary reverie, part heritage immersion.

Your evening begins at the Hôtel Moët. You’re greeted by an ambassador — not just a title, but a walking encyclopedia of Maison lore. Together, you descend into the chalky cool of Moët & Chandon’s historic cellars. Then: the crossing. You walk the iconic Avenue de Champagne — a UNESCO World Heritage site and liquid gold runway — to reach the neoclassical jewel that is the Trianon. Designed in the early 19th century by Jean-Baptiste Isabey, this château was once the private haven of the Moët family. Now, it’s yours.

Dine in a Château Designed for Emperors

The Trianon residence sits behind tall hedges on the Avenue de Champagne. Jean-Rémy Moët commissioned it as a family home in the early 19th century. It was designed by Jean-Baptiste Isabey — court painter to Napoleon Bonaparte — in full Premier Empire style: neoclassical columns, gilded moldings, and parquet that still bears the polish of state dinners past.

The building forms a trio with Hôtel Chandon and the Orangerie, surrounded by French formal gardens. It’s part of the UNESCO-listed Coteaux, Maisons et Caves de Champagne. Until now, it’s been sealed from the public — used only for family and dignitaries. Now, it’s open for intimate dinners capped at a select number of seats.

Experience Champagne Through the Chef’s Lens

Jean-Michel Bardet, Michelin-starred chef and head of cuisine at Moët & Chandon since 2022, composes the six-course menu. The process starts with the champagne, while the dishes are crafted to match the aromatic and structural notes of the evening’s selection, which includes Grand Vintage and Grand Vintage Collection pours.

“I start with the champagne,” says Bardet. “Its texture, its memory, its expression — that’s the foundation. The dish builds around it.”

Expect plates that reflect the Maison’s precision: mineral notes drawn out through shellfish or citrus, creamy textures echoed in bisques and purées, acidity matched with root vegetables or fermented touches. Each course is introduced by the chef or maître d’hôtel. Each pairing is built from the vintage up.

Dinner closes with mignardises in the salon. You linger with your final glass, in a room once reserved for royalty.
