AS PART OF THE 17TH EDITION OF THE “JARDINS, JARDIN” FESTIVAL, HELD FROM JUNE 9 TO 12 AT THE TUILERIES IN PARIS, CHANEL INVITES YOU TO DISCOVER CAMELLIA, THE FLAGSHIP INGREDIENT OF CHANEL’S NO. 1 BEAUTY LINE LAUNCHED LAST JANUARY.

Chanel will take up residence at the Parisian 2022 edition of the “Jardins Jardin” where it will present a space directly inspired by its latest cosmetics line. The luxury house will relocate a small part of its 70 hectares of camellias cultivated in Gaujacq, in the Landes, to develop an ephemeral greenhouse garden project, offering an immersive journey to discover the aesthetics of this resilient flower.

This immersive visit will take you on a journey evoking the hilly terrain of Gaujacq. Designed for educational purposes, the space highlights the work of the Chanel laboratory on this emblematic plant and in particular on Camellia japonica “The Czar”, the star ingredient of Chanel’s N°1 skincare line launched earlier this year.

Through guided tours led by experts, you will discover the cosmetic and phytochemical properties of camellia before exploring its different varieties – Camellia japonica “Alba plena”, Camellia sinensis, Camellia oleifera… – along a path specially designed to evoke the hilly terrain of the Gaujacq estate.

A space will also be devoted to the analysis of the different parts of the plant and their use in the form of oil, water, wax or seed shells, used in particular for the design of the packaging of certain products of the N°1 line.
