While in Milan, explore the city through the Milanese destinations featured in the Italian series Devotion, a Story of Love and Desire. Following in the footsteps of Carlo and Margherita, the two protagonists of the series, you will discover the most important places in Milan!

EXPERIENCE A CUSTOM-MADE TWO-DAY PROGRAM:

Day 1 – Explore Milan’s iconic downtown

Milan Duomo Morning: Every morning, Margherita walks to work across Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, one of the largest shopping streets in downtown Milan. Like her, start your exploration of Milan with a visit to the impressive Piazza Duomo. From here you can admire the city’s most iconic monuments: the Gothic cathedral El Duomo and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. This world-famous square is the meeting point par excellence for Milanese and visitors to the city. It is surrounded by the Teatro alla Scala opera house and the Palazzo Reale, which hosts numerous exhibitions.

Afternoon: Milan is an enticing playground for lovers of high fashion and luxury. Take advantage of your stay in the city to visit its many fashion houses and boutiques! From Piazza San Babila, you can walk to the iconic Milan Fashion District and its famous Montenapoleone Avenue, then stroll through the streets of the “Quadrilatero del Silenzio”, home to many elegant palaces and secret gardens. The Villa Necchi Campiglio, now a museum, and the Villa Invernizzi, with its pink flamingos and green exteriors, are worth a visit!

Bar Basso © Molino Pasini In the evening: Before going to dinner, enjoy the last rays of sunshine of the day and let yourself be tempted by a traditional Milanese aperitif: a convivial experience full of flavors! In the Italian series, Carlo and Margherita have a habit of going to Bar Basso, a historic establishment in Milan. It’s where one of the city’s most famous cocktails, the Negroni Sbagliato, was invented. You can also take in the sights at one of the city’s many rooftop bars, such as Terrazza Martini, from which you’ll have an exceptional view of Milan and its monuments.

Day 2 – From Sempione Park to the Library of the Trees to the Navigli, discover Milan’s architecture and design in the open air

Morning: Take advantage of your second morning in Milan to explore the city’s parks and green spaces. In the Netflix series, Carlo meets Sofia and her students for private lessons on the benches of the Parco Sempione, located between Castello Sforzesco and the Arco della Pace. Built for the 1906 World’s Fair, this park is home to architectural gems such as the Palazzo dell’Arte, which houses the Triennale art, design and architecture museum, and the Torre Branca and its observation bridge. The botanical garden “Library of Trees” and Il Bosco Verticale, a futuristic architectural complex made up of two towers entirely covered with shrubs, are also among the city’s green spaces to discover.

Chinatown ©YesMilano Afternoon: Several scenes from the Netflix series take place in the couple’s apartment located in Via Paolo Sarpi, in the heart of Milan’s Chinatown. These show the couple’s strong taste for furniture and interior design, just like the Milanese. The city is indeed a reference in terms of design!

Navigli

In the evening: To end your express trip to Milan in style, take the metro to Monumentale (line 5) and get off at the Tre Torri stop: you’ll find yourself face to face with the skyscrapers of the new CityLife business district and shopping mall, a most breathtaking panorama! At nightfall, like the young couple, take a stroll at your own pace along the Navigli. These canals, surrounded by charming colorful houses, are located in the district of the same name, where you can find many bars and nightclubs, but also boutiques, workshops and the Libreria Verso, where the protagonists like to spend time. Nearby, the Tortona Design District is known for its many designer studios and showrooms.
