The art world is set to return to Los Angeles from February 20 to 23, 2025, for Frieze’s sixth edition at Santa Monica Airport. Despite the challenges Los Angeles has faced, This year’s event is a testament to the city’s resilience, featuring over 100 galleries from 20 countries. By uniting collectors, curators, and artists, Frieze Los Angeles aims to help rebuild the city’s cultural vibrancy and solidify its place as a global hub for contemporary art.
Frieze Los Angeles has become an international platform, attracting art enthusiasts, collectors, and curators alike. In this edition, global galleries like Timothy Taylor from London and Galleria Lorcan O’Neill from Rome debut at the fair. However, Frieze also pays homage to Los Angeles itself. It includes spaces such as Bel Ami, Sow & Tailor, and Superposition Gallery. These galleries present diverse perspectives, contributing to the fair’s lively and forward-thinking atmosphere.
Art Beyond the Fairgrounds
Frieze Projects, the fair’s public art program, expands its reach this year with installations across Los Angeles. Titled Inside Out, the 2025 program explores themes of perspective and personal history. It features site-specific works by artists like Lita Albuquerque and Greg Ito. These installations aim to connect art with the city’s landscape, encouraging locals and visitors to engage with it in unexpected ways.
The venue itself is a masterpiece, designed by the architectural studio Why, led by Kulapat Yantrasast. The custom-built structure offers stunning layouts that enhance the experience of viewing art. Its integration of light and space creates a dynamic backdrop for the exhibits.
