Hästens Sleep Spa was Inaugurated last May 2021 in Coimbra, In the center of the old Portuguese capital, classified as a Unesco World Heritage Site. In a building that once housed the meetings of the student associations of the famous University of Coimbra. The Hästens Sleep Spa concept hotel invites you to experience world-class sleep. Hästens Sleep Spa presents the opportunity to spend the night in one of the best beds in the world, and to enjoy a selection of personalized pillows to complete the Hästens experience.
This concept is the result of a partnership between the Portuguese group O Valor do Tempo and the Swedish mattress brand Hästens. A brand renowned since 1852 for its handcrafted mattresses. Hästens took over the bedrooms with its competition bedding (Herlewing model for those in the know) and its iconic blue and white gingham pattern.
Hästens Sleep Spa features fifteen unique rooms with some of the world’s most impressive hand-made beds, combining the classic charm of a unique cultural heritage with modern style and elegance. The hotel is entirely designed around one key concept: SLEEP. While the bathrooms are inspired by the singularity and literary richness of the Biblioteca Joanina, the rooms offer, in contrast, the serenity and tranquility of a sanctuary dedicated to personal comfort, conceived within the exclusive Hästens Sleep Spa concept.
At check-in, you are invited to participate in Bed Talks, conversations with sleep expert Dr. Edie Perry, who will provide the best advice on neck position, lumbar support and pillow selection to guide them to the ultimate sleep experience. Hästens Sleep Spa offers a real Pillow Menu in which guests are invited to choose from 5 pillows of Hästens’ state-of-the-art craftsmanship, offering different sizes, materials and firmness levels.
