Hermès Home Channels Emotion Through Handwoven Cashmere, Dyed Detail, and Luminous Design.

April 13, 2025- Hermès Home Collection at Milan Design Week 2025

Hermès Home returns to La Pelota this Milan Design Week with a stunning scene of near-ethereal white, with suspended boxes casting halos of color onto the floor. The scenography, designed by Charlotte Macaux Perelman and Alexis Fabry, transforms the space into a quiet, reflective journey through glass, leather, and textiles. This year’s collection highlights the poetics of transparency and materiality, with a tactile experience.

Hermès Frames the Collection in Halos and Suspended Light

La Pelota’s minimalist setting showcases white suspended boxes, each housing Hermès’ latest home creations. Illuminated from below by vibrant color halos, creating an interactive environment where light and objects dynamically shift with the viewer’s movement. The design invites a slower, more deliberate exploration of each piece, emphasizing the transparency of materials like glass and leather.

The collection plays with opacity and translucence, particularly in glass objects. Mouth-blown vases and lacquered glass tables reveal the mastery of the craft, with stripes and layers that shift colors as light passes through. Doublé d’Hermès side tables blend leather-wrapped glass with sugi wood speaks to Hermès quiet craftsmanship.

Designers Create an Emotional Dialogue Through Reflection

Macaux Perelman and Fabry’s scenography emphasizes the emotional connection between the viewer and the objects. “There is no real, defined space,” says Macaux Perelman. “There’s just the reflection.” The white boxes serve as elevated frames, inviting a deeper experience of the objects within. This subtle, almost intangible relationship between the objects and the surrounding environment transforms the collection into a reflection of emotional presence.

The Striped Dye and H Partition throws exemplify the emotional depth of Hermès’ craftsmanship. Hand-woven cashmere and delicate gold powder bring these pieces to life, their intricate dyeing process almost imperceptible, yet profoundly present. This emotional resonance is what sets Hermès apart in the home design world. The craftsmanship speaks through powerful connections fostered with the viewer.
