FOR THE OPENING OF THIS SPRING-SUMMER 2023 SHOPPING SEASON, PARIS’ DEPARTMENT STORES ARE UNVEILING THEIR COMMERCIAL HIGHLIGHTS: LE BON MARCHÉ IS ORGANIZING THE “LIKE A FISH IN THE WATER” EXHIBITION, FOCUSED ON SOOTHING AND WELL-BEING, WHILE GALERIES LAFAYETTE HAUSSMANN IS LAUNCHING THE “MEDITERRANEAN MANIA” THEME, FOCUSED ON TRAVEL.

At Le Bon Marché, turning to water rhymes with well-being. From February 25 to April 23, the Left Bank store is offering you the chance to take a “me-time” while immersing and meditating in a very large virtual aquarium and its schools of drawn fish, designed by the Japanese collective TeamLab. The immersive installation is visible on the second floor of the store, to which are added yoga, sports, and meditation classes.

Invited brands include make-up artist Violette FR, beauty brand Holidermie and activewear label Lululemon, while Le Bon Marché supports the Mewan Adventure for Good association, which conducts research and education to raise awareness of global warming issues (rounding up at checkout will be offered).

For Galeries Lafayette, the teams drew their inspiration from the shores of the Mediterranean. From April 5 to May 28, the department store on Haussmann Boulevard, as well as the entire network in France and abroad, will be inspired by the creative and sunny cities that border this sea, from Morocco to Greece to Italy.

The event will feature Majorcan shoe brand Camper, two pop-up stores by Valentino and Aquazzura, Spanish sandals by Hereu, and raffia bags by Sans-Arcidet, while a partnership has been formed with the Maison de l’artisan du Maroc, Levantine cuisine is on the program.

Galeries Lafayette is also adding a solidarity dimension to the event, with a rounding-off at the checkout in favor of the “Fondation de la Mer“, the NGO campaigning against Mediterranean sea pollution.
