WITH A VARIETY OF NEW LUXURY EXPERIENCES & ATTRACTIONS MADRID REINVENTS ITSELF

Luxury can be defined in many ways, nevertheless, everyone agrees that it is synonymous with high quality. In this respect, Madrid is the ideal destination. It knows how to take care of its visitors and constantly renews itself to create new unique experiences. Its culture, lifestyle, 3,000 hours of sunshine per year, gastronomic and hotel offer make the Spanish capital an exceptional destination.

PRESTIGIOUS HOTELS

The arrival of the Four Seasons in 2020 has been a real joy for the tourism sector of the capital. Located in the former building of the insurance company La Equitativa, built-in 1887 in front of the Puerta del Sol, the hotel is one of the most luxurious in the capital. Likewise, the reopening of the Mandarin Oriental Ritz, the Rosewood Villa Magna and the Santo Mauro Autograph Collection will allow the city to welcome a high-end and demanding clientele in complete tranquillity.

In 2022, other prestigious hotels will be added to this offer. Marriot International’s The Madrid Edition hotel will offer 200 rooms and suites with innovative design and five dining outlets, including an exclusive restaurant, cocktail bar, Sky Bar and rooftop terrace, as well as an outdoor pool and state-of-the-art fitness center and spa.

FLAVORS OF YESTERDAY AND TODAY

For many, gastronomy is the luxury par excellence. In Madrid, century-old restaurants offer flavors of yesterday and today, cooked with the best local products. San Miguel, San Antón, Vallehermoso or Botín, founded in 1725 and considered the oldest restaurant in the world according to the Guinness Book of Records, are references in Madrid’s gastronomy. The 21 Michelin-starred restaurants make Madrid a paradise for the most exquisite palates.

In fact, new establishments have recently received this prestigious distinction. Among them, the boutique restaurant Smoked Room, directed by the prestigious chef Dani García and located in the Hyatt Regency Hesperia hotel, has two stars. Quimbaya is the first signature restaurant with Colombian flavors in Madrid to have one star, led by chef Edwin Rodríguez. Similarly, in the unique setting of the Ritz hotel, Deessa by chef Quique Dacosta has three stars. Finally, the restaurant Coque, by two-starred chef Mario Sandoval, received a green star for its commitment to sustainability.

TAILOR-MADE SHOPPING
Madrid is also the ideal destination for shopping enthusiasts. There is something for everyone: for those who love handmade clothes, for lovers of luxury brands and multi-brand stores, for vintage treasure hunters, for lovers of open-air markets, for followers of the latest trends… Everything is designed to make a shopping day totally unique.

Many century-old establishments continue to make handmade products using the most natural materials, which can only be found in the Spanish capital. Among them, Capas Seseña began making traditional Spanish clothing in 1901 that has been worn by celebrities such as Picasso and Hemingway. Guitarras Ramírez, on the other hand, has been making prized musical instruments since 1882, and its fifth generation of descendants continue the tradition. Today, these skills remain and are reinvented to keep up with the times. Young artisans such as Javier Medina, who makes ecological trophies from materials such as bamboo, or Andrés Gallardo, who designs unique necklaces and bracelets in his boutique-workshop in the Barrio de Las Letras, make Madrid a city where creativity is expressed.

The big news is the Galería Canalejas. It is a 15,000-meter avant-garde space just a few steps from the central Puerta del Sol, which houses some of the world’s most prestigious fashion, fine jewelry and accessories brands. Hermès and Cartier have set up shop here, along with a dozen restaurants creating a spectacular Food Hall.

STROLLING BETWEEN NATURE AND CULTURE
In addition to its extraordinary gastronomic and commercial offer, Madrid blends nature and culture. In July 2021, the Paseo del Prado and the Buen Retiro were recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the category of Landscape of Arts and Sciences. An exceptional urban environment where culture, science and nature have come together since the mid-16th century.
