Maison & Objet Returns With the Theme Sur/Reality, Showcasing Hospitality Trends and Decor Innovations
November 25, 2024 – Art & Design, Paris
As the global design community gears up for Maison & Objet 2025, the stakes are higher, the themes are bolder, and the offerings are more innovative than ever. Running from January 18 to 22, 2025, this iconic Parisian exhibition will center around the intriguing theme of Sur/Reality, exploring the delicate balance between the surreal and the real in the design world. With a focus on hospitality, interior trends, and thought-provoking installations, Maison & Objet 2025 is set to shape the conversations that will define the future of design.
The theme Sur/Reality invites visitors to navigate the liminal space between imagination and function, pushing the boundaries of what design can achieve. This year’s lineup of exhibits, curated spaces, and installations reflects this vision, offering fresh perspectives on how design can inspire and innovate.
Hospitality Takes Center Stage
One of the key highlights of the January edition is its robust hospitality focus, designed to cater to professionals in the hotel and hospitality industries. Hall 7 will be the epicenter of this offering, showcasing everything from materials and wallcoverings to lighting, home automation, and bathroom solutions.
In Hall 6, What’s New? In Hospitality, curated by Julien Sebban of Uchronia, will present “Hospitality: A Taste for Theatricality.” This immersive space will explore how drama and design meet the needs of contemporary hospitality, offering both inspiration and practical solutions for professionals.
Faye Toogood: Designer of the Year
This year’s Designer of the Year, Faye Toogood, will unveil her installation, “Womanifesto: Ceci n’est pas une chaise”, in Hall 7. The exhibit is a surrealist journey into Toogood’s creative mind, offering a deconstructed exploration of her design process. Known for her boundary-pushing work, Toogood will challenge visitors to rethink the relationship between form, function, and artistic expression.
What’s New? In Decor
Another key attraction in Hall 7 is Elizabeth Leriche’s What’s New? In Decor. This showcase will highlight the colors, materials, and trends set to define the interiors of tomorrow. Leriche’s ability to anticipate design shifts ensures this space will be a must-see for anyone seeking insight into future design directions.
Maison & Objet’s Strategic Evolution
Maison & Objet is a dynamic platform that continues to adapt to the ever-changing design industry. In 2025, the event will take a new approach with two distinct editions:
