Since its launch in France in 2018, TOKI continues to highlight the art of Highball. This long drink imagined in 1950 has become a hit with the new Japanese generation and now crosses borders thanks to Maison Suntory and its brand TOKI. Highball, or “Haibo-ru” in Japanese, comes from a recipe as simple as it is original: whiskey mixed with sparkling water in a tall glass filled with ice cubes and citrus fruits. Traditionally consumed during the meal, the current trend is to evolve the Highball from the aperitif to the after-dinner. Maison Suntory has imagined original recipes and twists for the summer season that enhance the flavors of TOKI whiskey, through the use of traditional ingredients such as matcha, wasabi sudachi or black radish.

TOKI” means “time” in Japanese. TOKI is an intergenerational whiskey, like a bridge between the past and the present, representing both authenticity – respectful of heritage – and innovation – inspired by renewal. TOKI challenges the traditional codes of whiskey thanks to the alliance of different blends, for a surprising and innovative result. Master Blender Shinji Fukuyo has chosen to blend Hakushu, a subtly peated malt whiskey aged in white oak barrels, to Chita, grain whiskey. This complementarity between malt and grain whiskey gives TOKI all its singularity. Shinji Fukuyo completes this unique marriage with two malts from the Yamazaki distillery: a malt aged in American white oak barrels and a malt aged in Spanish oak barrels. TOKI HIGHBALL IN 3 TRADITIONAL RECIPES

  1. TOKI HIGHBALL ORIGINAL
  • In a glass mug, place 3 spherical ice cubes then stir with a mixing spoon to cool the glass.
  • Drain off the excess water.
  • Pour in 4 cl of TOKI, then stir with a mixing spoon to cool the whiskey.
  • Add sparkling water and gently stir everything.
  1. TOKI GINGER HIGHBALL
  • Fill a tumbler glass with ice cubes and pour in 4 cl of TOKI.
  • Extend with sparkling water.
  • Add 1 cl of ginger syrup and mix gently.

  • Fill a tumbler glass with ice cubes and pour in 4 cl of TOKI.
  • Extend with sparkling water.
  • Add the lemon zest

TOKI HIGHBALL IN 3 CREATIVE AND COLORFUL RECIPES

  1. TOKI HIGHBALL MATCHA
  • In a previously chilled tumbler glass, pour 4 cl of TOKI.
  • Extend with sparkling water.
  • Dip a stick of ice cream flavored with matcha tea into the glass.
  1. TOKI SUDACHI WASABI
  • Fill a tumbler glass with cubic ice cubes then stir with a mixing spoon to cool the glass.
  • Drain off the excess water.
  • Pour in 4 cl of TOKI, 0.5 cl of sudachi juice then stir with a mixing spoon to cool the whiskey.
  • STEP 4 Add sparkling water and gently stir everything. STEP 5 Garnish with a cup of ice cream in which a few grains of wasabi have been placed.
  1. TOKI HIGHBALL BLACK RADISH
  • In a glass mug, place 3 spherical ice cubes then stir with a mixing spoon to cool the glass.
  • Drain off the excess water.
  • Pour in 4 cl of TOKI, then stir with a mixing spoon to cool the whiskey.
  • Slide a slice of black radish along the glass, add sparkling water and gently stir everything.
