Max Mara Resort Collection Finds Its Next Destination in Naples

Max Mara is embarking on another journey, this time heading to the Reggia di Caserta, one of Italy’s most magnificent landmarks, for its Resort 2026 Collection. Initially announced as a Naples event, the Italian fashion powerhouse has now revealed the precise location—the Royal Palace of Caserta—often referred to as the “Italian Versailles.” The show will take place on June 17, 2025, marking the next chapter in Max Mara’s tradition of spectacular destination showcases.

A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Reggia di Caserta was commissioned in 1752 by Charles of Bourbon, King of Naples and great-grandson of Louis XIV. Designed by Luigi Vanvitelli, this monumental palace boasts 1,200 rooms, 1,742 windows, and sprawling gardens covering 123 hectares. After years of neglect, it underwent significant restoration following the pandemic, reclaiming its place as one of Italy’s most treasured architectural masterpieces.

Max Mara’s Ongoing Dialogue with Italy’s Cultural Heritage

This is the second time Max Mara has chosen the Bay of Naples region for its Resort showcase. In June 2021, the house hosted a gala at the Mezzatore Hotel and Spa on the island of Ischia, a collection inspired by Truman Capote’s aristocratic muses and his time spent on the island. Under the Creative Direction of Ian Griffiths, Max Mara continues to anchor its collections in historically significant locations.

Max Mara is known for embedding cultural narratives into its fashion destinations, making the setting an integral part of the collection. Past presentations have taken place at the Neues Museum in Berlin, which set the stage for a collection echoing neoclassical refinement. At the Whitney Museum in New York, modernism and precision took center stage, while the Gulbenkian Institute in Lisbon provided a backdrop rich in artistic heritage. In May 2024, Max Mara presented its latest collection at the Palazzo Ducale in Venice, embracing the grandeur of Venetian architecture.
