The glamour and excitement of the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week (MCFW©) have taken center stage in the Principality of Monaco. This year marks the milestone tenth edition of the event, which began in 2013 and is organized by the Chambre Monégasque de la Mode (CMM) in collaboration with the Monaco Government and the Mairie of Monaco. With a focus on resort, cruise, and capsule collections, the MCFW© has become an international sensation, attracting attention from fashion enthusiasts worldwide.
Under the distinguished patronage of Her Serene Highness Princess Charlène of Monaco, the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week continues to elevate its prestige, securing a coveted spot in the international fashion week calendar. The event has blossomed under the guidance of Federica Nardoni Spinetta, who founded the Chambre Monégasque de la Mode in April 2009. Her visionary leadership aims to showcase and promote the creative talents of Monaco’s local fashion industry, as well as establish the Principality as a prominent player in the global fashion scene.
The Fashion Hub, nestled within the exquisite setting of the Yacht Club de Monaco, served as the launching pad for the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week. Here, industry luminaries, fashion enthusiasts, and influential figures gathered for a series of captivating conferences. Benoit-Louis Vuitton, Corporate Director of Louis Vuitton, opened the discussions, delving into topics ranging from fashion and business to circularity, inclusivity, culture, and art.
The grandeur of the Museum of the Collection of Cars of H.S.H. the Prince of Monaco provided an exquisite backdrop for the dazzling runway shows. As the curtains rose, Simone Guidarelli, the Creative Director and Celebrity Stylist, mesmerized the audience with an exclusive collection inspired by his profound connection to nature.
Each garment exuded a harmonious blend of elegance and environmental consciousness. Following his breathtaking showcase, Beach & Cashmere Monaco by Federica Nardoni Spinetta took the stage, infusing the atmosphere with the thrill of the Grand Prix. The brand’s collection paid homage to motorsports while championing sustainability through the use of dead-stock materials and sustainable fabrics. Complementing the outfits were the exquisite footwear creations from the Monaco-based brand, Von Lowenstein.
Marlea Monte-Carlo, another Monaco-based brand, then transported the audience to the carefree ambiance of a summer vacation on the vibrant French Riviera. Their collection captured the essence of freedom and lightness, showcasing a fusion of sophistication and casual elegance. Wrapping up the first day of mesmerizing runway displays was FITME Monte-Carlo, an embodiment of eco-sustainable luxury. Their innovative designs proved that fashion can be both ethically responsible and undeniably stylish.
As the curtains close on Monte-Carlo Fashion Week 2023, the echoes of creativity, style, and sustainability continue to resonate. This prestigious event has once again proven its ability to enchant and inspire, showcasing the fusion of glamour and conscious fashion. With its international acclaim and dedication to promoting Monaco’s creative talents, the Monte-Carlo Fashion Week has firmly established itself as a shining beacon of innovation and elegance in the fashion world.
