Giorgio Armani returns to Dubai after an eleven-year absence to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the opening of Armani hotels in Milan and Dubai with a new edition of One Night Only. The event was held in conjunction with Expo 2020, the World’s Fair that opened on October 1.
One Night Only Dubai, which took place last night at the Armani Hotel Pavilion, opened with the Giorgio Armani Men’s and Women’s Spring/Summer 2022 runway show and a selection of Armani Privé Haute Couture looks from the Fall/Winter 2021/22 Shine collection. The show was followed by a special live performance by Chris Martin of Coldplay. Following the October 15 launch of Music of the Spheres, the band’s new album, Martin performed exclusively for over 400 guests.
The event was attended by celebrities and international personalities. Guests also included dignitaries and prominent families from the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
One Night Only Dubai was designed to minimize the impact on the environment in accordance with the ISO 20121 standard. The Armani Group had planned to not use single-use plastics, avoid food waste, favor the rental of equipment and installation materials, encourage the reuse and recycling of materials, promote the separate waste collection and the use of hybrid or electric cars and LED lighting. Suppliers were also required to comply with specific social and environmental clauses. The Armani Group supported nature-based solutions projects to offset residual GHG emissions from the event and will be committed to continually reducing its environmental impact.
