DRIVEN BY A PASSION FOR WINE, THE CHOICE OF A RETURN TO THEIR ROOTS AND A TASTE FOR CHALLENGE, OLIVIA AND DIDIER LE CALVEZ HAVE BEEN MAKING THEIR OWN WINE SINCE 2010 IN ONE OF THE MOST ILLUSTRIOUS REGIONS OF THE BORDEAUX CONSTELLATION.

— A LOVE STORY AND WINE AT THE REGION —

Didier le Calvez was born in Javerlhac and spent holidays in Cadaujac and Pessac-Léognan. As for Olivia le Calvez, she spent her childhood family holidays at the Haut Médoc as she is attached to the region. In 2009, driven by a passion for wine and respect for the land, Olivia and Didier le Calvez acquired this wine estate, with the ideal terroir and the magnificent cellars, the couple starting to produce wines with the greatest respect for the land and the people.

— THE VINEYARD —

The twenty-one-hectare vineyard is composed of 70% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Franc and 3% Carmènere, Petit Verdot and Malbec with wines aged between 25 and 30 years on average, with two plots over 75 years old.

Because wine is above all a product of the land, Olivia and Didier le Calvez decided to adopt sustainable agriculture from the outset in the vineyard. Thanks to the work carried out in the vineyards by the manager under the advice of Julien Viaud, the agricultural engineer, Château Clarisse was awarded the organic label in 2019. Under the direction of Jacques Fourès, the estate is redoubling its efforts to go further in its respect for nature. All the wines are aged in oak barrels by French coopers.

— THE WINES —

Castillon Côtes-de-Bordeaux

  • 2017: Gold Medal at the Concours Général Agricoles de Paris

Exquisite aperitif wine with great finesse. 100% Merlot, the wines are a different expression of the terroir, a little more powerful and tannic, perfect with a charcuterie platter or tapas for a real moment of conviviality.

Puisseguin Saint Emilion

  • 2017: Gold Medal in the DVE Wine Guide

Recognized since 1936, the Puisseguin-Saint-Emilion AOC is a soft, fleshy wine with nice tannic power. Composed mainly with Merlot and Cabernet France, it offers an accessible and greedy wine that provides an easy and immediate pleasure.

Puisseguin-Saint-Emilion Vieilles Vignes

  • 2017: Gold medal at the ELLE à Table competition and at the Lyon International Competition

Made from 75-year-old vines on average, this cuvée is the result of a blend of 50% old Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc as well as a touch of Carménère. This sophisticated and atypical wine is the signature of the estate as the Cabernet Franc brings a complex bouquet and a real personality.
