ORIENT EXPRESS, THE ETERNAL REFERENCE OF LUXURY TRAVEL, RETURNS TO ITALY AFTER 46 YEARS WITH 6 LUXURIOUS NEW ROUTES

Georges Nagelmackers, 150 years ago, made a dream come true by launching the first Orient Express luxury trains. In 2023, the Orient Express is back on the rails and takes its passengers to a fabulous country, Italy!

Born from the luxury rail tourism project imagined by Arsenale S.p.A., now in association with Orient Express through Accor Group, the Orient Express La Dolce Vita will welcome its first passengers on board 6 luxury trains, starting in 2023. A journey from the north to the south of Italy, through 14 regions, to which are added three international destinations linking Rome to Paris, Istanbul and Split. A magical stopover to experience the first Orient Express hotel, Minerva, scheduled to open in 2024.

Behind the name Orient Express La Dolce Vita, a tribute to the Dolce Vita, to a fantastic period of history, to the artistic and cultural fervor of Italy in the 1960s. With the support of Accor Group, the official hotel partner of La Dolce Vita, and thanks to the partnership with Trenitalia and Fondazione FS Italiane, this journey invites you to travel along more than 16,000 km of rail lines – 7,000 of which are non-electrified – to re-experience the country’s historical treasures.

Designed by Dimorestudio, the architecture and design studio founded by Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran in 2003, the Orient Express La Dolce Vita train combines the Italian way of life with the contemporary spirit of travel. The train’s sumptuous decor will feature 12 Deluxe cabins, 18 suites, 1 Prestige suite and a restaurant, and will boldly celebrate the craftsmanship, design and creativity of the 1960s and 1970s.

In collaboration with the best international chefs and sommeliers, you will enjoy 5-star service on board, savoring the treasures and excellence of “Made in Italy“, from the delights of its gastronomy to the finest Italian wines.

At Rome Termini station, the Orient Express Lounge will welcome passengers and offer them a selection of refreshments before their departure. A friendly and elegant place where everyone will benefit from personalized services and advice.

The different itineraries have been chosen to create new travel experiences that awaken our five senses. Most of them will start in Italy, revealing the wonders of the Alps, the bucolic countryside or the paradisiacal beaches of southern Italy. Three special itineraries will take you through eight countries, linking Rome to Paris, Istanbul and Split.
