Florence Hosts the World’s Most Influential Menswear Fair Once Again. Here’s Everything You Need to Know Before You Go
January 10, 2026, Pitti Immagine Uomo 2026
Pitti Immagine Uomo 2026 Returns for Its 109th Edition in Florence. Find Essential Details on Dates, Guest Designers, Must-see Exhibitions, and Key Events.
If men’s fashion has a global epicenter each January, it’s the historic Fortezza da Basso in Florence. Pitti Immagine Uomo is the season’s opening spectacle, where the next wave of style is unveiled. For its 109th edition, titled “Motion,” the fair transforms into a sprawling campus of discovery. The concept serves as both a metaphor and a mission statement. It signifies the kinetic energy of discovery on the fairgrounds, the progression of trends, and the physical dialogue between clothing and the body. This idea of perpetual flow and transformation is captured directly in the official campaign. Shot by SSAW’s Chris Vidal and Tuomas Laitinen in stark black and white, the images feature garments from Guest Designer Soshiotsuki styled in mid-movement—a deliberate still from a larger sequence, emphasizing fashion as an evolving narrative. This is your essential guide to navigating the key events, shows, and hidden gems.
The Runways Setting the Tone
The heartbeat of Pitti is its guest designer runway shows, and this edition delivers three distinct visions.
Hed Mayner — Guest Designer
Fashion Show: January 14, 2026 | Palazzina Reale di Santa Maria Novella
Hed Mayner, the Israeli-born, Paris-based designer, makes his Pitti Uomo debut this January. He is known for his oversized tailoring and layered pieces, which extend the regular proportions of menswear. His collections blend elements of menswear and workwear, resulting in comfortably constructed garments. Mayner’s shows are notable for their physicality: sculptural and substantial without restricting movement. At Pitti, he will present a runway highlighting these signature techniques in a Florence setting for the first time.
Shinyakozuka — Special Event
Event: January 14, 2026 | Magazzino 07, Fortezza da Basso
Shinya Kozuka, the Osaka-born designer behind the label Shinyakozuka, brings his work to Florence for a special project during Pitti Uomo 109. He is known for his hand-painted details on menswear. Kozuka studied at Central Saint Martins and launched his brand in 2015, winning the Tokyo Fashion Award in 2023. His Florence project will showcase his signature mix of craftsmanship and individual style in a dedicated installation and presentation.
Soshiotsuki — Guest Designer
Show: January 15, 2026 | Refettorio di Santa Maria Novella
The newly crowned 2025 LVMH Prize winner, Soshi Otsuki, brings his Japanese label to Florence for a highly anticipated debut. He designs tailored menswear with clear references to Japanese traditions, using wide trousers, layered shirts, and kimono-inspired cuts. His collections often draw on workwear and the loose suits popular during Japan’s 1980s “bubble era.” At Pitti, he will present his FW2026 collection.
Sections & Projects
Pitti Uomo is organized into distinct thematic pavilions mapping out the landscape of menswear. The fair is structured around core sections, including Fantastic Classic for tailoring, Futuro Maschile for forward-thinking design, Dynamic Attitude for technical sportswear, Superstyling for avant-garde aesthetics, I Go Out for the outdoor lifestyle, and the Scandinavian Manifesto curated by CIFF. A new addition for this edition is Hi Beauty, a dedicated area for niche fragrances within Futuro Maschile.
Alongside these central pavilions, a series of curated projects focused on niche craftsmanship and thematic presentations:
Pittimags
📍 Central Pavilion, Cavedio
Pittimags returns with its curated selection of independent magazines dedicated to fashion, art, design, food, beauty, sport, and lifestyle. The iconic blue newsstand moves to the Cavedio on the lower level of the Central Pavilion. Curated by Frab’s Magazines, the space showcases contemporary publishing and provides a cross-disciplinary perspective on visual culture, extending beyond fashion alone.
Consinee Presents “Echoes of Craft”
📍 Central Pavilion, Spazio Carra
Chinese cashmere specialist Consinee returns to Pitti Uomo with a site-specific installation curated by Sara Sozzani Maino in collaboration with Georgian designer Galib Gassanoff. The project explores the relationship between traditional craftsmanship and experimental design. The installation focuses on materials, texture, and construction, presenting cashmere and precious yarns in a visual environment that connects heritage techniques with a more surreal, modern approach.
New Standard Japan Leather Project
📍 Sala delle Nazioni
Led by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry, the New Standard Japan Leather Project returns to Florence to promote sustainable production in Japanese leather goods. Six brands take part: A Leather, Brightway, Regal Shoe & Co, Taak, Taannerr, and Tep_p. The project highlights responsible sourcing, technical development, and Japanese craftsmanship applied to contemporary accessories.
J∞Quality
📍 Central Pavilion, Piano Attico
The seventh edition of the J∞Quality project, curated by the Japan Apparel Fashion Industry Council, focuses on high-quality Japanese manufacturing. The project includes a special section dedicated to Spiber, the developer of Brewed Protein fiber. Participating companies include Trenta Settanta, Echizenya, K-3B, Goodpeople Goodstitching Goodproduct, J.Press, Kiivu, Sanyocoat, Inakadate, Tani Seni, and Uchida Dyeing Works. The exhibition highlights production processes, materials, and craftsmanship behind Made in Japan clothing.

The lineup includes: Babette Wasserman, Baracuta, Barbour, Carl Friedrik, Charles Tyrwhitt, Cheaney, Crockett & Jones, Croots England, Douglas Hayward, Edward Green, Elizabeth Parker, Elliker, Fox Umbrellas, Hardy & Parsons, Harris Wharf London, Invertère, Jamieson’s of Shetland, John Smedley, Kangol, Leathersmith of London, Loake, Mou, Sanders, Tateossian London, Walker Slater, Cathcart London, Oscar Deen, Lynne Coleman, and Purple Mountain Observatory.
CODE KOREA
📍 Fortezza da Basso

It features a presentation of six Korean brands selected for their distinct design approaches: Seokwoon Yoon (future classic tailoring), Vegan Tiger (vegan fashion with graphic artwork), Ajobyajo (streetwear rooted in Asian subculture), BLR (raw, opaque denim), Egnarts (witty, conceptual design), and Ordinary People (Seoul-based upcycled menswear).
The Can’t-Miss Experiences
Beyond the Fortezza, Pitti Uomo extends into Florence with a series of projects focused on tailoring, education, and material research. These events introduce a closer look at how menswear is being produced, studied, and presented today.
Sebiro Sanpo
January 13, 2026 | Starting at the Fortezza da Basso
In collaboration with Vitale Barberis Canonico, this project marks its European debut. Translating to “suit walk,” it is a spontaneous “walking fashion show.” A group of men in tailored looks will walk from the Fortezza into Florence’s historic center, presenting a dynamic vision of modern elegance.
Istituto Modartech / Mix & Match – The Art of Making
January 14, 2026 | The Social Hub Florence Lavagnini
Istituto Modartech presents a selection of student fashion projects developed around four material categories: leather, knitwear, natural fabrics, and technical textiles. The Art of Making exhibition shows finished garments and prototypes, focusing on construction, material handling, and production choices rather than concepts or themes. It gives a clear view of how young designers work with materials in real design processes.
Roy Roger’s X Kappa
📍 Central Pavilion, Ground Floor
Two Italian icons, Roy Roger’s and Kappa, collaborate on a ski suit combining Roy Roger’s denim construction with Kappa’s technical sportswear expertise. The jacket is based on Kappa’s 6cento model, paired with a high-performance pant that copies the cut and pocket details of Roy Roger’s classic five-pocket jeans. The suit moves well, handles winter conditions, and keeps the feel of denim in the details. At Pitti, it will be on display as a single piece showing both brands’ techniques in one garment.
