This pop-up is more of an immersive, artistic journey, straight from the mind of Elsa Schiaparelli. Its vision is brought to life by Creative Director Daniel Roseberry.

The centerpiece is a colossal golden keyhole. It beckons its visitors into a world where haute couture meets the surreal. This gleaming installation is reminiscent of the hammered brass featured in Schiaparelli’s jewelry collections. It’s a nod to Schiaparelli’s roots, while reflecting its evolving aesthetic. In a vibrant city like Shanghai, the pop-up’s bold visual impact fits perfectly.

Once inside, visitors are welcomed by a space that mirrors Schiaparelli’s Paris flagship. The sleek white moldings, sculptural plaster appliques, and elegant furnishings exude refined creativity. Yet, the pop-up goes beyond simple replication. It transforms the experience into something uniquely its own, capturing the attention of Shanghai’s fashion-forward audience.

The exterior walls are equally captivating. Trompe-l’œil motifs of lips, torsos, and ears adorn the surfaces. These playful, surrealist elements have been Schiaparelli signatures since Elsa Schiaparelli’s time. These designs, set against irregular surfaces, create visual pockets that reveal accessories, jewelry, and key pieces from the brand’s latest collections.

Inside the golden keyhole, the pop-up highlights Schiaparelli’s luxury creations. A curated selection of shoes, handbags, jewelry, and ready-to-wear garments is on display. This includes couture pieces and even denim. Whether it’s a trompe-l’œil dress, a sculptural coat, or a delicate knit, the pieces blend avant-garde artistry with wearability. Key items from Schiaparelli’s Spring/Summer 2024 and Fall/Winter 2024/25 collections are available for private fittings in an exclusive suite within the mall. It offers a personalized shopping experience like no other.

Through this pop-up, Schiaparelli is expanding its global presence strategically. After establishing itself in the U.S., with flagship stores at Bergdorf Goodman in New York and shop-in-shops at Harrods in London, Schiaparelli now targets the East. Delphine Bellini, the brand’s CEO, explains that this move is part of a larger strategy. Schiaparelli aims to remain exclusive while broadening its reach internationally. “We aim to extend our presence to key destinations,” says Bellini. “But always with an eye to preserving the singularity and exclusivity of the Schiaparelli brand.”
