These exceptional watches are showcased through immersive scenography, designed by preorder&soldout Studio. They are further brought to life by Dietlin Swiss Showcases. Expect to see everything from grand complications and Haute Joaillerie marvels to masterpieces of craftsmanship. You’ll also find iconic designs alongside more accessible models. Each watch, classified into 15 distinct categories, reflects the vibrant diversity and ingenuity of modern watchmaking art.

A SHOWCASE OF EXCELLENCE

This year’s Grand Prix D’horlogerie De Genève’s exhibition showcases an extraordinary collection of 90 nominated watches. These timepieces, carefully selected from 273 entries, represent 146 brands from around the globe. They are divided into 15 unique categories, highlighting the incredible diversity in today’s watchmaking world.

Each category celebrates a different facet of horology. Expect to see grand complications as well as jewelry watches merging art with precision. There are also categories for sports watches, calendar masterpieces, and classic time-only designs.

Among the standout contenders, Parmigiani Fleurier and Chopard lead with six nominations each. “It’s something really special,” says Parmigiani Fleurier’s CEO, Guido Terreni. “It’s the first time in all 24 editions that we’ve had six nominations. It’s a moment of pride.” Their nominated pieces span categories like ladies’, men’s, calendar and astronomy, chronograph, sports, and the new time-only category. Terreni notes that simplicity poses the biggest challenge. The Tonda PF Micro-Rotor No Date, for instance, has a 40mm steel and platinum case, a hand-guilloché dial in barley grain color, and an automatic micro-rotor movement. “To be iconic with simplicity is a difficult exercise,” he adds.

Hermès, typically known for luxury fashion, has three nominated timepieces. The brand is nominated in the ladies’, mechanical exception, and artistic crafts categories. The Arceau Duc Attelé, inspired by Hermès’ equestrian heritage, features horse-shaped hammers and design elements from a horse cart. The Hermès Cut, in the ladies’ category, boasts a minimalist bezel and a custom font, combining elegance and precision.

Independent brand SpaceOne is making a name for itself. Their Tellurium model, competing in the challenge category, offers a planetarium complication for 2,900 CHF.
