FROM SEPTEMBER 30, 2021 TO APRIL 24, 2022, DISCOVER THE OUTSTANDING HAUTE COUTURE EXHIBITION “THIERRY MUGLER, COUTURISSIME” AT THE MUSEE DES ARTS DECPORATIFS IN PARIS.

After Montreal and Rotterdam, it is finally time for the Musée des Arts Décoratifs to proudly exhibit the mystical world of Manfred Thierry Mugler from September 30, 2021 to April 24, 2022. This large-scale exhibition explores the work of the designer who revolutionized fashion, haute couture and perfume – a tribute that immerses us into both his history and his uniqueness. The exhibition features over 150 haute couture and ready-to-wear outfits by the French couturier, as well as a window into his first collections, his first fashion shows, his first boutiques, his signature models, as well as videos and unpublished archives dated from 1973 to 2014.

The exhibition honors art in all its forms: fashion, music, drawing, photography, filmmaking, and even theater: for example, you’ll find a selection of costumes designed by the artist for “Macbeth“, a play presented by the Comédie-Française troupe at the Avignon Festival in 1985. Along the way, digital performances of professionals from the world of entertainment and audiovisual are displayed and accompany the visitor into its discovery. In this capital where Thierry Mugler experienced all his successes, and in this museum that is a main piece of the Parisian lifestyle, all the energy of the artist is transmitted and gives the visitor the feeling to immerge into his fantastic world.
