zzedine Alaïa: Sculpting Fashion marks the designer’s first major retrospective in the United States, opening this November at San Francisco’s Legion of Honor. The exhibition brings together 80 emblematic Alaïa designs, historic fashion pieces from his collection, and looks worn by Tina Turner, Grace Jones, and Rihanna. Organized around themes including bandage dresses, sculptural volume, silhouette, black and white, and Alaïa’s technical craftsmanship, the show traces the codes that defined his career.
