Fondation Beyeler unveils a monumental exhibition, Constellations, which will take over the entirety of its expanded campus for the first time, including Peter Zumthor’s new building and the extended park grounds. This ambitious presentation will bring together around 230 works from the museum’s collection, exploring the rich dialogue between art, architecture and nature. Inspired by Alexander Calder’s constellations, the exhibition promises a dynamic, evolving experience, with sections that will shift with the seasons and invite new discoveries with each visit. It will unite masterpieces from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, including new acquisitions and significant loans, offering an exceptional panorama of modern and contemporary art history.

To mark the beginning of the new year, Fondation Beyeler will present a major retrospective devoted to Mexican artist Frida Kahlo (1907–1954), focusing entirely on her artistic practice. The exhibition will bring together around 50 paintings, representing roughly one third of her total painted oeuvre, alongside 15 emblematic drawings.

In summer 2027, Fondation Beyeler will devote a major exhibition to Louise Bourgeois (1911–2010), bringing together around 100 works spanning every period of the artist’s career. The exhibition will include sculptures in wood, plaster, bronze, latex and other materials, alongside pen drawings, watercolours and oil paintings. It will also feature several of Bourgeois’s monumental Cells, the architectural installations that rank among her most important works.
