Few cultural institutions command the devotion of an entire nation quite like the Festival di Sanremo. Since 1951, Italy's most celebrated song competition has shaped generations of musical talent, launched careers, and influenced the country's popular culture. Fashion, celebrity appearances, and spectacular stage performances are inseparable from its identity.

The 77th edition marks a new chapter under Stefano De Martino, who succeeds Carlo Conti as host and artistic director. Twenty-four competing artists will perform original songs across five televised evenings, with a revised format designed to place greater emphasis on musical interpretation and stagecraft.

Among the principal changes, the traditional Serata delle Cover takes place on February 18, featuring reinterpretations of Italian and international songs alongside guest performers. A new Serata Performance follows on February 19. Its winner, selected by public voting and an international jury, will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2027, independently of the festival's overall result.

The competition concludes with the Gran Finale on February 20, when the winner of the 77th edition will be crowned.

Sanremo's influence reaches far beyond music. The red carpet, designer wardrobes, celebrity appearances, and televised performances make it one of Italy's most closely watched fashion and entertainment occasions. Throughout the festival, the Riviera also attracts media personalities, artists, and industry figures for private gatherings and brand events.

Festival Tickets & VIP Experiences

February 16–17 — Opening Competition Evenings

Live performances by the competing artists at Teatro Ariston.

February 18 — Serata delle Cover

Special performances featuring reinterpretations of Italian and international songs.

February 19 — Serata Performance

A dedicated competition evening determining Italy's representative at Eurovision 2027.

February 20 — Gran Finale

The concluding ceremony and announcement of the Sanremo Music Festival winner.
