MILAN FASHION WEEK, RUNNING FROM SEPTEMBER 17 TO 23, 2024, WILL FEATURE AN EXPANDED SCHEDULE WITH 58 SHOWS, INCLUDING THREE VIRTUAL PRESENTATIONS. DESPITE THE ABSENCE OF KEY DESIGNERS LIKE GIORGIO ARMANI, TOM FORD, AND MSGM, THE EVENT INTRODUCES EIGHT NEW DESIGNERS AND WELCOMES BACK SEVERAL NOTABLE NAMES.

Milan is preparing for an exhilarating Fashion Week this September, with the Camera della Moda (CNMI) unveiling an extended program for the women’s ready-to-wear collections for Spring/Summer 2025. Scheduled from September 17 to 23, the event has been extended by an extra day, featuring a total of 58 shows, including three virtual presentations. Despite the notable absences of Giorgio Armani, Tom Ford, and MSGM this season, the CNMI will introduce eight new names to the lineup, comprising both returning designers and fresh talent.

The opening day, typically reserved for inaugurations and select events, will host four shows on Tuesday, September 17.

Fiorucci will kick off the event, followed by Fendi, Marni, Alberta Ferretti, and Iceberg, with the potential addition of another prestigious name.

Giorgio Armani will present his main line in New York in October, but Milan will still see the double show of his Emporio Armani line on September 19. Tom Ford, having recently parted ways with creative director Peter Hawkings, will present its collection in a showroom rather than on the runway. MSGM, celebrating its 15th anniversary, unveiled its womenswear collection alongside its menswear collection in June and will not participate in September’s schedule.

Blumarine is also absent this season, undergoing a transitional phase following the sudden departure of creative director Walter Chiapponi. Other missing names from the provisional calendar include Chiara Boni, La Petite Robe, Sagaboi, and Ethiopian designer Feben. Feben, backed by Dolce & Gabbana in February, will be replaced by Chinese designer Susan Fang.

NEW AND RETURNING DESIGNERS

Young designers making their Milan Fashion Week debut include Susan Fang, Chiccomao by Mao Bao Bao, and Vietnamese designer Phan Dang Hoang. The schedule also marks the return of Boss and Laura Biagiotti, who previously presented her collection in a digital format. Young labels Federico Cina, The Attico, and Andreadamo will also make a comeback. New names Defaience by Nicola Bacchilega and Jacob Cohen will conclude the week with a digital show on Monday, September 23.
