STEPHANIE SEYMOUR’S PERSONAL COUTURE COLLECTION FEATURED IN AN EXHIBITION AT NSU ART MUSEUM, FT. LAUDERDALE

The NSU Art Museum in Ft. Lauderdale is set to display a stunning exhibition of Stephanie Seymour’s personal collection of vintage haute couture dresses. Visitors will have the chance to view dresses created by some of the most iconic designers in fashion history, including Azzedine Alaïa, Courrèges, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Paco Rabanne.
Accompanying these exquisite pieces is a selection of romantic paintings by contemporary artist Karen Kilimnik. Her works feature fashion models, such as Leonardo DiCaprio, cast in leading roles, drawing inspiration from the glamour and sophistication of the fashion world. The exhibit pays tribute to Truman Capote’s “The Swans,” high-society women from the mid-20th century known for their style and elegance.
This exhibition is part of the larger “Picturing Fame” collection, which includes four concurrent exhibitions that explore the theme of fame. The NSU Art Museum is hosting a black-tie event on March 11 to celebrate the premiere of the exhibition, with individual tickets starting at $3,000. Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting future exhibitions and educational programming at the museum.

The Azzedine Alaïa Foundation‘s retrospective exhibition, “En Liberté,” features the stunning fashion photography of Arthur Elgort and celebrates the groundbreaking work of Franco-Tunisian designer Azzedine Alaïa. Through 33 timeless and confidential shots, viewers can witness how Alaïa liberated women’s bodies, dressing supermodels like Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington in his iconic creations. The exhibit showcases the influence that Alaïa and Elgort had on the fashion industry in the 1980s, as they created designs that embodied determination, independence, and assertiveness in women.
PICASSO IN A NEW LIGHT

In a new exhibit at the Musée National Picasso during Paris Fashion Week, British designer Paul Smith has transformed the traditional white walls of the gallery into a vibrant and playful space that showcases some of the artist’s most famous works in a fresh, inventive, and Instagram-worthy way.
Smith was given “carte blanche” to art direct the exhibition, which marks the 50th anniversary of Pablo Picasso’s death, while the display was curated by Cécile Debray and Joanne Snrech. Visitors can immerse themselves in the exhibit, which explores Picasso’s periods from Cubism through the Blue Period, with each room offering a more experiential and interactive experience.
Using vintage wallpaper, colorful stripes, posters, and collages of plates, Smith has successfully blurred the lines between artwork and object, playing on decorative motifs in Picasso’s paintings and creating an exhibit that is a must-see for both art and fashion lovers alike.
