KAMEL MENNOUR’S LOCATIONS HAVE FINALLY REOPENED, AND IT’S THE OCCASION TO VISIT “FACE A FACE”, ON DISPLAY FROM JUNE 3RD TO JULY 24, 2021.

FACE A FACE

Face à face is a thrilling exhibition that you can discover from June 3rd to July 24, 2021 at Kammel Mennour‘s gallery rue Saint-André-des-Arts. Alicja Kwade and Louise Nevelson‘s Face-à-face stages an unexpected dialogue between the two artists, who lived at very different time periods – Louise Nevelson was born in 1899 and Alicja Kwade in 1979 – and who, despite never meeting each other and living very different lives, are today connected through art.

On display, you’ll find a selection of Nevelson’s wall pieces from the 1970s, assembled with Kwade’s works, either earlier or produced for the occasion. Here, the artist responds to the artworks of her late counterpart. The pieces take over the space, resting on the floor or on the walls, and he overall atmosphere is representative of the sculptural conception and exigency that the two artists share(d).
