Teatro alla Scala will celebrate Carla Fracci with the sixth edition of Gala Fracci on May 7 and 9, continuing the annual tribute established in 2022 in honor of one of the most important figures in Italian ballet.

Fracci's relationship with La Scala spanned more than half a century. After entering its Ballet School at the age of ten, she joined the company in 1955 and was named prima ballerina in 1958. Her interpretations of the great Romantic ballets, particularly Giselle, established her international career, while Milan and La Scala remained central to her artistic life.

A Tribute Through Her Repertoire

At the heart of Gala Fracci is the repertoire that shaped Carla Fracci's career. The program draws from the roles and ballets most closely associated with her, interpreted by international guest artists together with La Scala's Étoiles, principal dancers, soloists, and Corps de Ballet.

The format also connects the different generations of La Scala. Students from the Ballet School of the Teatro alla Scala Academy will share the stage with the company, continuing a relationship that began when Fracci entered the school at the age of ten and eventually rose to prima ballerina.

For its sixth edition, the gala will be presented across two evenings, with Kevin Rhodes conducting the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra. The May 7 performance also holds the Ballet Premiere position in La Scala's 2026–2027 season.
