DEL CORE UNVEILED HIS SPRING 2022 READY-TO-WEAR COLLECTION AT PALAZZO DEL GHIACCIO FOR MILAN FASHION WEEK – AN EXTRAVAGANT SPECTACLE OF REFLECTIONS AND COLORS INSPIRED BY MOTHER NATURE.

Daniel Del Core blessed the audience During Milan Fashion Week 2021, with his Spring Summer 2022 collection called “Women and clouds“. This captivating showcase begins with the element of water, and more specifically its evolution as it changes from liquid state to vapor, from mist to fog and finally back to its liquid self. Echoing the transformations of water, Del Core develops the idea of glamour mutating into new forms: soft, protective and evanescent; from exact sewing to the fluttering of ruffles and folds as animated as seaweed.

In this show, the flow is uninterrupted, like evaporating water. Among the many pieces, the collection contains men’s pantsuits closed with hooks and shaky jumpsuits, tops paired with wide pants turned into kimono coats with train, and even mini-dresses shaped like flowers, referring to nature once again.

Solid surfaces alternate with faded jacquards, while the embellishment swings from a flourish of organic shapes to the glow of artificial decoration. Emerging from the thick clouds decor are women both ethereal and sensual, traveling fast in the wind, as delicate as orchids and as menacing as nails, standing on massive platforms and heels that remind of brightly colored carnivorous flowers. In a never-ending movement, the dresses they wear cling, expand, curve, bend, float and curl.

In the water, everything moves, and the color becomes material. On the catwalk, this flow is represented by a juxtaposition of the acute, the embellished, and the feminine, the liquid and the solid, the transparent and the opaque. Different elements come together, like fluids melting, enhanced by a palette of vivid but desaturated colors, washed out to find a new beauty: pale greens, intense reds, sunny yellows, delicate pinks and black. The sudden splashes of enamel add a sensual and gestural touch to the breathtaking symphony that captivates the eye. Overall, this collection is a metaphor, an abstract image of the creator’s imagination!

As Gucci’s former VP designer, Daniel Del Core made his runway debut with his label Del Core in Milan last February 2021, marking the world of fashion fast and strongly with his creative vision. The German-born, Italian-based designer had already worked with big names in the industry – among them Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and Zuhair Murad – and decided to start his own journey – a pretty extravagant one. Among Del Core’s inspirations, you’ll find nature, science fiction and wanderlust, which are all reflected in his creations. With a talented team of people his age (around 30 years old), Del Core creates unique and sustainable pieces that all carry a meaning.
