“Places To Be” exhibition brings together 14 international designers around a common project: Jointly reconstructing a unique living space, made up of 11 rooms each conceived by a designer. This mission is shrouded in mystery, like the famous Cluedo game where the use of each piece is part of a unique universe.
Each, in his own space, imagined a fully practicable environment, from furniture to objects, which visitors could use. The intention of this exhibition is to reposition design as a daily use-value and no longer as a category of museum works. “Places To Be” values design as a discipline intended to design and manufacture objects, spaces, or utilitarian images.
For this exhibition, the Foundation called on designers of seven nationalities who have never exhibited or worked together to date. For initial information only, the invited designers were given the dimensions of their respective spaces. Each space is made up of a circular metal tank, varying from 2.50 to 3.50 meters high and pierced with 2 to 5 openings. Most of the works on display are unpublished.
