As Paris gears up to host the 2024 Summer Olympics, the city of lights is set to shine even brighter with a star-studded event hosted by Vogue and LVMH. On the eve of the Olympic opening ceremony, July 25th, the Fondation Louis Vuitton will be the backdrop for a glamorous soirée titled “Prélude,” promising a night of opulence, creativity, and celebration.
The event, orchestrated by a collaboration of fashion and luxury giants, features an impressive lineup of hosts. Pharrell Williams, the multifaceted artist and Men’s Creative Director of Louis Vuitton, joins forces with Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH, Brian Roberts, CEO of Comcast NBCUniversal, and the iconic Anna Wintour, Global Editorial Director of Vogue. Together, they aim to create an unforgettable evening that embodies the spirit of the Olympics—unity, creativity, and excellence.
“Co-organizing this event with such esteemed colleagues is an honor,” Pharrell Williams expressed. “The Olympics celebrate diversity, humanity, and creativity—values that resonate deeply with us. This event is a testament to the power of unity and shared human experiences.”
The guest list reads like a who’s who of global icons. Among the attendees are former tennis champion Serena Williams, singer Rosalía, Hollywood actress Charlize Theron, and French actor Omar Sy. This constellation of stars, alongside legendary athletes and performers, will gather at the Frank Gehry-designed Fondation Louis Vuitton, nestled in the Bois de Boulogne.
Far from a typical gala, “Prélude” will transform the Fondation into a whimsical Olympic-themed playground. Pharrell Williams has envisioned interactive installations and games that pay homage to various sports. Guests can engage in activities like table tennis, foosball, archery, and basketball, all reimagined through an artistic lens.
No luxury event would be complete without exceptional cuisine. Michelin-starred chef Jean Imbert will curate the culinary experience. Complementing the gourmet offerings, Moët Hennessy will provide an array of sophisticated cocktails, adding a touch of effervescence to the evening.
In addition to the evening’s festivities, the event carries a philanthropic spirit. Comcast NBCUniversal will make a charitable donation to the Olympic Refuge Foundation, supporting the 36 athletes from 11 countries who will compete as part of the International Olympic Committee’s Refugee Olympic Team.
