The case handles everything through a combination of mechanical engineering, computer vision, and artificial intelligence developed with the Dubai Future Foundation and its research arm, Dubai Future Labs.

The Brain Behind the Gesture

A discreet camera sits inside the lid. It reads your dial in real time, analyzing hand positions like a watchmaker would. An AI algorithm, trained on countless configurations, interprets what it sees and calculates the corrections needed. Meanwhile, a mechanical module mimics the exact gesture a human hand makes on the crown, adjusting date, day, month, and moon phase with surgical precision.

The software orchestrates the entire operation. Bluetooth connectivity, error detection, feedback loops, it all runs silently in the background. You get the result without the complexity.

Designer Max Terio from Eight Inc. collaborated with Audemars Piguet's internal teams to shape the case itself. Geometric lines meet soft touch surfaces. Polished metal details punctuate the silhouette. Proportions were calibrated for intuitive use, balancing ergonomics with visual harmony and tactile comfort.

The case extends Audemars Piguet's aesthetic language beyond the wrist, creating something that belongs in the same universe as the Royal Oak itself.
