Shanghai Fashion Week has grown into one of Asia’s most important fashion calendars, with the Spring Summer 2027 edition spanning runway shows, presentations, trade fairs, showrooms and cultural events across the city.

Shanghai Fashion Week Spring Summer 2027 schedule runs from October 8 to 16, with more than 80 shows and presentations. Chinese designers remain at the heart of the week. International brands, sportswear groups and fashion collaborations appear across a much wider program. Xintiandi At The Heart Of The Runway Calendar

Xintiandi is one of the main addresses of Shanghai Fashion Week, with shows staged around Taipinghu Park in the heart of the district. The setting is distinctly Shanghai, pairing restored shikumen architecture with contemporary retail, restaurants, and some of the city’s most recognisable lifestyle spaces.

HEMU opens the Spring Summer 2027 season here on October 8. The Xintiandi schedule continues throughout the week with SHUTING QIU, Nana Jacqueline, ONLY, WOO, and other Chinese and international labels. Elsewhere, Yongyuan Road, NEW BUND 31, 800SHOW, and independent locations across the city carry the schedule into different parts of Shanghai.

The Chinese Designers To Know

Shanghai Fashion Week remains one of the best places to understand the new generation of Chinese fashion. The Spring Summer 2027 calendar includes HEMU, XIAOLI, SHUTING QIU, Short Sentence, SHUSHU/TONG, and other designers whose work now travels well beyond the domestic market.

SHUTING QIU has become one of the most recognisable names on the calendar, with a visual language rooted in saturated colour, embroidery, layered print, and highly decorative surfaces. Short Sentence brings a quieter, more understated sensibility, while SHUSHU/TONG continues to explore femininity through sharp proportions, school-uniform references, bows, lace, and controlled sweetness.

International brands are using Shanghai in increasingly varied ways, with several choosing collaborations, special projects, and city events instead of a conventional runway format.

Adidas presents Future of Three, a multi-day program focused on design developed in China. H&M introduces its Elie Saab collaboration to the Chinese market with a dedicated preview. Sportswear, designer collaborations, and locally developed projects all sit alongside the independent fashion calendar.
