AS THE COUNTDOWN TO FRIEZE LA 2024 BEGINS, ANTICIPATION MOUNTS FOR AN UNFORGETTABLE JOURNEY TO THE HEART OF CONTEMPORARY ART.

IN A WORLD WHERE LUXURY MEETS ART, FRIEZE LA REMAINS A LANDMARK FOR INSPIRATION, LIGHTING THE WAY TO A MORE VIBRANT AND INTERCONNECTED FUTURE.

Frieze Los Angeles presents itself as a flagship of innovation and creativity, highlighting the intersection of luxury and artistic expression. As anticipation builds for its upcoming 2024 edition, scheduled for March 1-3 with a VIP preview day on February 29, the stage is set for a compelling exploration of the cultural zeitgeist.

One of the most notable changes to this year’s edition is the deliberate shift in timing. Traditionally held during the second week of February, Frieze LA has now embraced a new calendar slot, strategically positioned to captivate art enthusiasts and collectors alike. Christine Messineo, Frieze’s director of Americas, elucidates this decision, emphasizing the desire to draw a larger audience to the fair while allowing visitors to immerse themselves fully in the experience without the distractions of holiday weekends.

The fair’s physical space has also undergone a transformation, reimagining the layout to enhance the visitor experience. Nestled within the historic Santa Monica Airport, Frieze LA will feature a reconfigured floor plan and a central outdoor space, meticulously crafted by WHY Architects. This architectural marvel, designed to foster moments of connection and contemplation, serves as a testament to the symbiotic relationship between art and the environment.

With 95 exhibitors carefully curated for the 2024 edition, Frieze LA promises a diverse array of artistic voices, spanning continents and cultures. From established blue-chip galleries to emerging avant-garde spaces, the fair encapsulates the rich tapestry of the contemporary art world.

Leading Los Angeles galleries, including David Kordansky Gallery, Blum, François Ghebaly, and Regen Projects, will showcase their unparalleled collections alongside international powerhouses like Gagosian, Hauser & Wirth, and Pace Gallery. Noteworthy debuts from galleries such as Silverlens, Bank, and Kasmin further underscore the global appeal of Frieze LA as a premier destination for artistic discovery.

As the boundaries between the physical and digital realms blur, Frieze LA 2024 serves as a crucible for artistic experimentation and exploration. From Lynn Hershman Leeson‘s engaging exploration of algorithmic behavior to Trevor Paglen‘s poignant interrogation of machine vision, each artwork serves as a testament to the transformative power of art in an ever-changing world. Kim Sung Yoon‘s ethereal floral arrangements, Bai Yiyi‘s kaleidoscopic canvases, and Lee Bul‘s hypnotic cyborg-inspired sculptures further elevate the discourse, inviting the audience to plunge into the depths of imagination and creativity.
