A Three-Day Festival Celebrating the Dialogue Between Cinema and Fashion

This Milan Fashion Week, Kering and Vogue Italia bring cinema into the fashion spotlight with Cinemoda Club, a three-day festival celebrating the power of film and fashion together.

Cinema and fashion have long moved in parallel. From Marlene Dietrich’s tuxedos to Fellini’s Roman glamour, clothes tell stories as vividly as images. Now, Cinemoda Club makes that relationship explicit. It will show how film shapes our view of style and how fashion, in turn, dresses cinema’s imagination.

Cinemoda Club Festival program, curated by Gian Luca Farinelli of Bologna’s Cineteca, will feature 36 works. Cult classics, independent documentaries, and forgotten treasures will share the stage. The films have been selected for their ability to question, redefine, or magnify fashion’s place in culture.

The screenings will unfold across three historic venues: Cinema Mexico, Cinema Palestrina, and L’Arlecchino. These theaters, each carrying decades of Milanese history, offer a fitting backdrop. In contrast to the polished catwalks, they root the festival in Italy’s cinematic tradition.

Meanwhile, Italian actress Valeria Golino will serve as the Festival’s patron. Her presence anchors the project in Italy’s creative heritage.

Kering’s Cinematic Path

For Kering, Cinemoda Club builds on the group’s strong ties with cinema. In 2015, it launched Women in Motion at the Cannes Film Festival, a platform honoring female voices in film and photography. So far, sixteen women—from directors to actresses—have received recognition.

More recently, Saint Laurent, the Maison under the Kering umbrella, founded Saint Laurent Productions, becoming the first fashion maison to establish a film company. In 2023, it dressed the casts of Paolo Sorrentino’s Parthenope and Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez, marking a rare moment when couture became cinema.

At Kering, we see fashion and cinema as creative disciplines in constant dialogue,” explains Laurent Claquin, Kering’s brand director. “Both use style, storytelling, and images to inspire, move, and shape how culture is lived. Cinemoda Club celebrates this deep exchange between two art forms that endlessly enrich each other.”
