Robin Wright, Morris Chestnut, Jaz Sinclair, and a Groundbreaking Awards Lineup Take Center Stage in Monaco

June 8, 2025- Monte-Carlo Television Festival 2025

Like every June, the Monte-Carlo Television Festival returns to the Grimaldi Forum with its signature Monaco-style spectacle: red carpets, global premieres, and five days of curated encounters between television royalty and rising visionaries. The 64th edition (June 13–17, 2025) spotlights Robin Wright, Morris Chestnut, and Jaz Sinclair, alongside a new wave of creators and formats that signal how deeply the small screen has evolved.

This year’s calendar is charged with firsts. The launch of a Digital Award category, the French premiere of Watson. The high-profile Crystal Nymph presentation to Robin Wright, honoring her legacy from The Princess Bride to House of Cards. The Festival doubles down on storytelling, format evolution, and global connection, with Monaco as its polished stage.

Honoring Icons, Introducing Visionaries

The Festival opens with a French premiere screening of Watson, CBS Studios’ investigative-medical drama starring Morris Chestnut. Premiering June 13 in the Salle des Princes. The series reimagines the classic Holmes universe through the lens of a modern doctor navigating grief, medicine, and a past that won’t stay buried.

The spotlight widens on Robin Wright, this year’s Crystal Nymph recipient. Celebrated for her range and creative leadership, from The Princess Bride to House of Cards, Wright joins the Festival’s pantheon of global icons. Her career will be honored during the Golden Nymph Awards on June 17.

Jaz Sinclair, the breakout star of Gen V, receives the International Golden Nymph for Most Promising Talent. Following in the footsteps of Théo Christine and Simone Ashley. Known for her intensity and nuance on screen, Sinclair has fast become one of the most compelling young voices in genre television.

A Digital Shift: The Squeezie Moment

A new chapter begins with the launch of the Digital Award, marking the Festival’s commitment to platform-native innovation. Though the full competition begins in 2026, 2025 introduces its first honoree: Squeezie.

France’s most-watched YouTuber and Twitch streamer, Squeezie (Lucas Hauchard), has transformed the digital entertainment landscape. His weekly Twitch events draw millions. His GP Explorer series—Formula 4 races featuring online creators, shattered French streaming records. He’s launched a wellness brand (CIAO), co-founded an esports team (Gentle Mates), and starred in Merci Internet, a Prime Video documentary exploring the digital age’s creative currents.

The Festival’s recognition places him on the same stage as traditional media powerhouses. Reflecting a deeper understanding of where the industry and its audience are headed.

Juries & Awards

Presiding over the Fiction Jury is Judith Light, joined by actors Rachel Griffiths, Sarah Rafferty, and Gabrielle Lazure, among others. Meanwhile, Mireille Dumas leads the News & Documentaries Jury, which includes Ross Kemp and Daniel Karslake. Their task: review 18 global programs (from 12 countries) and award the coveted Golden Nymphs.

This year’s Golden Nymph Awards Ceremony will be hosted by Ricky Whittle and Shy’m—a magnetic duo combining international star power with French glamour. The two will preside over the prestigious closing event on June 17, held at the Salle des Princes.

Beyond competition, the program expands with Mort sur terre battue, a French crime drama; and AKRIS , Fashion With a Heritage, the Albert Kriemler documentary premiering in France after a Tribeca debut. Panels, meetups, and masterclasses round out a festival calibrated for both industry and audience.

Special Events, Meetups, and Public Access

From The Bold and the Beautiful to Teen Wolf, the Grimaldi Forum transforms into a playground of fan engagement. Expect celebrity selfies, fan panels, public screenings of nominated programs, and red carpet moments throughout the week. Special presentations include:

  • A 15-year tribute to Scènes de Ménages

Beauty lovers can drop by the SLA Paris activations for live demos and makeup experiences on the Esplanade. Meanwhile, a variety of behind-the-scenes panels dive deep into the industry’s invisible players—from art handlers to curators.
