Today, this former hunting lodge of Emperor Napoleon III, transformed into a restaurant for the 1900 World’s Fair, is a starred restaurant run by Georges and Bertrand Menut. An endangered species, the two brothers are among the last restaurant owners who have inherited the flame lit by their grandfather more than eighty years ago and passed on by their father.
At La Grande Cascade, they work daily to maintain a classic quality restaurant in the kitchen as well as in the reception. If the menu, executed by Frédéric Robert, proposes signature dishes such as Macaroni, black truffle, foie gras, celery, gratinated with parmesan cheese or Crispy calf sweetbread, sand carrots with sorrel, juice with turtle herbs, the Chef makes his menu evolve according to the seasons and his desires. His delicate Tourteau au naturel, caviar Prunier or his breathtaking Turbot of the Atlantic are decorated with fruits and vegetables of the season, according to the inspiration of the moment.
This winter, you can sit in the rotunda room where woodwork, gilding and crystal chandeliers sublimate the space, or in fine weather on the terrace located under the magnificent Art Nouveau marquee, in a green setting.
