September gives Lake Como another few weeks before its grand hotels begin winding down for winter. This fall, there is a new address on the western shore. The Lake Como EDITION has opened in Cadenabbia, facing Bellagio, with its own private dock, floating pool and Mauro Colagreco's first restaurant in Italy.

The 19th-century palazzo now holds 148 rooms, including 25 suites, two penthouses and a private villa. Neri&Hu designed the interiors, while restored French balconies open several rooms toward the lake and Bellagio peninsula.

For a September escape from Milan, Babble-Up pairs the stay with a private boat across Lake Como and dinner at Cetino, where Colagreco has created one of the hotel's most interesting private dining experiences.

    Lake Como From the Water

The EDITION sits directly on the lake in Cadenabbia, with a private dock allowing guests to leave the hotel by boat rather than road. Private excursions can cross toward Bellagio or continue along the western shore past Tremezzo and Lake Como's historic villas. The hotel itself offers scenic boat experiences, while private charters can be arranged around the lake.

September is particularly well timed this year for design. From September 12 to 20, the eighth Lake Como Design Festival brings exhibitions, installations and talks into villas and cultural addresses around Como under the 2026 theme, Confine. Villa del Grumello is among this year's venues.

    Mauro Colagreco Comes to Italy

Dinner brings the experience back to Cadenabbia. Mauro Colagreco, the Chef behind three-Michelin-starred Mirazur in Menton and a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Biodiversity, has chosen Lake Como for his first restaurant in Italy.

At Cetino, the menu follows the lake rather than importing Mirazur to Lombardy. Current dishes include trout ravioli with trout roe and dill sauce, lemon-butter tagliolini with lake-fish caviar, marinated mackerel and lavarello, and Valtellina bresaola with Casera cheese

For a private dinner, The Wine Table Experience changes the format entirely. Guests choose at least five wines from the cellar, and the culinary team creates a bespoke menu around the selection. Nothing is revealed beforehand. The table accommodates up to ten guests and requires 48 hours' notice, with an €800 exclusivity fee covering the private room, setup, and dedicated service.

    Stay Through October

The hotel's current Stay & Dine at the Lake offer runs through October 30, 2026, pairing accommodation with daily breakfast, Franciacorta on arrival, a €100 food and beverage credit and a private introduction to the hotel's culinary philosophy with its Executive Chef.

For Babble-Up clients, the stay can be arranged alongside private transfers from Milan, a private boat itinerary across Lake Como and dining at Cetino.
