MADE OF DENSELY SEWN GUIPURE, AND COMPLEMENTED BY FRAGMENTS OF LACE, RIBBON, VELVET AND BROCADE, ALL THE FRANCK SORBIER PIECES WERE FABULOUS.

There aren’t many designers as indie as Franck Sorbier, whose three-decade career has been marked by wonderful moments, like this season’s acrobat-inspired chic.

The venue chosen for this year’s show is the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, an indication of Sorbier’s personality, as he continues to sew the highlights of his couture collections himself.

While a saxophonist played plaintive jazz, a black stallion strolled down the stairs, just as the first top appeared.

Frank’s love of street acrobats is evident in a series of stunning evening gowns, whose curves and gathers mimic the shapes sketched by French tightrope walkers.
