The tournament is named after Roland Garros, a pioneering French aviator and First World War hero. The courts are terracotta red. The crowd is Parisian. And Paris in late May, when the Bois de Boulogne is in full leaf and the terraces of Saint-Germain are at their best, is as close to perfect as a city gets.
The Days That Matter
Roland Garros 2026 runs from May 24 to June 7. Not all days are equal. Here is when to be there:
First week, May 24 to 30: The early rounds on Court Philippe-Chatrier. The atmosphere builds, the upsets happen, and the hospitality venues are at their most relaxed.
Second week, May 31 to June 4: The quarterfinals. The field is down to the best eight in the world on each side. The matches get longer, more dramatic, and more unpredictable.
Semifinals, June 5 and 6: The two days that define the tournament. The best seats, the most charged atmosphere, and the matches that are remembered for years. The men's and women's semifinals can only be booked together.
Finals, June 7: The most coveted tickets in tennis. The men's and women's finals can also only be booked together.
