Under the crystalline Parisian light of early March, glancing off the gray stone and bare branches of the Jardin des Tuileries, Jonathan Anderson unveiled the most ambitious act of his era at Dior. For his Fall/Winter 2026–27 Ready-to-Wear Collection, his fifth for the Maison, including menswear and couture? Anderson built a park within a park. He turned the Bassin Octogonal into a pond of artificial lilies, immense and pearlescent. He seated his guests on the iconic green metal chairs inside a towering gloriette, then sent them home with miniature versions. Commissioned by Catherine de' Medici, redesigned by Louis XIV, the Jardin des Tuileries remains where Paris comes to see and be seen, to stroll and be strolled past.
Outside the gloriette, against the barriers lining the Place de la Concorde, a different kind of fashion show unfolded. Girls in thrifted Dior button-downs layered over tights. Boys in tailoring worthy of the men's runway. Fashion obsessives who had been camping since dawn, clutching copies of old Dior archives and waiting for a glimpse of the new court.
When Anya Taylor-Joy stepped out in a diaphanous confection, the scream carried across the Place de la Concorde. When Charlize Theron followed, it doubled. Willow Smith in custom leather. Inside the Gloriette
Once the roar of the crowd subsided and the last celebrity took their seat on those iconic green chairs, the performance Anderson had orchestrated began to reveal itself. Those first Dior shows ran to one hundred fifty looks , fifty coats. Monsieur Dior understood volume. Anderson's response presents a new archival proportion.
The procession opened with a series of cardigans cuts, floating above clouds of organza. Tulip sleeves appeared everywhere, on brocade, on knits, on the new signature cardigans that will define the season. The Bar jacket reimagined in Donegal tweed , its curves amplified yet minimal.
Beneath that volume lives unseen structure. Built-in bras in jackets and cardigans, supporting from within. "The hand," Anderson calls it, and it defines everything.
From this alchemy of rigor and release, the season's key trends emerged. The New Bar Jacket , galbé and minimal in Donegal tweed, rethinks the Maison's icon for 2026. Tulip Sleeves appear on knits, on brocade, on evening wear. The Cardigan as Jacket hybrid construction arrives destined for best-seller status. Silk Sweats in hammered silk. Functional Buttons on every piece make a quiet manifesto. Integrated Support with bras built into jackets transforms construction into intimacy. The Dior Coat in fantastic variations echoes those original fifty exits with entirely new interiors.

The Sun King's Palette
The color story unfolded in registers both of the garden and utterly artificial. The greens of the gloriette, the gray of winter stone, the white of those impossible lilies floating in the Bassin Octogonal. Then came the courtly shades: brocade in burnished gold, silk in deep claret, tweed in the heather tones of Donegal. Everywhere flashes of that Diorissimo pink , the color of a tulip's interior, of a woman caught in good light.
