WITH ITS GLOBAL REACH, CELEBRATION OF EMERGING FILMMAKERS, AND COMMITMENT TO EMPOWERING WOMEN AND DRIVING SUSTAINABLE CHANGE, THE FESTIVAL IS POISED TO CAPTIVATE AUDIENCES, BRIDGING CULTURES AND INSPIRING A BETTER FUTURE FOR THE FASHION AND CULTURAL INDUSTRY.

The prestigious Fashion Film Festival Milano-FFFMilano, founded and directed by Constanza Etro, is set to celebrate its ninth edition in collaboration with Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana and the patronage of the City of Milan. Taking place during Milan Men’s Fashion Week from June 12-19, 2023, this international fashion and culture event continues to captivate audiences with its contemporary, digital, and cutting-edge approach.

STRENGTHENING ITALIAN FASHION ON THE GLOBAL STAGE:

FFFMilano has established itself as a vital platform for showcasing the “Made in Italy” fashion abroad. With a global network built over nine years, the festival provides a top-tier global environment for young Italian designers and established brands to maximize their exposure. This edition introduces two exciting new projects, elevating the festival’s influence and reach.

Project 1: A Fusion of Global Talent and Emerging Filmmakers: A free streaming platform will feature a curated selection of 270 fashion films from 60 countries, including renowned brands like Gucci, Prada, Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, and Jacquemus. These films will be showcased alongside works by exceptionally talented emerging filmmakers, highlighting the festival’s philosophy of “The Big One Helps the Small.” Among the standout films are “CK1 Palace” by Alaisdair McLellan for Calvin Klein & Palace, featuring Willem DeFoe and Lourdes Leon, and “Jemima Kirke is Bambi LeBeau” directed by Katie McCurdy, starring Jemima Kirke from the series “Girls.”

FFFMilano embraces diversity and inclusion, addressing themes through films like “Familiar Traces” by Izzy Mana and Enrico Bellenghi, and “Ción, Mami” by Miss Kam, amplifying the voices of second-generation black BIPOC communities and trans people of color, respectively. The festival also celebrates Italian talent with films like “The Dream of Dreamers” by Floria Sigismondi for Ferrari and the comical tale “La Vacanza” by Salvatore delle Femmine and Federico Scaglia for Versace.

Project 2: Exploring the Metaverse: FFFMilano makes its debut in the Metaverse, allowing Meta-spectators to create avatars, interact with others, and visit a virtual auditorium showcasing the films in competition. The virtual experience extends to discovering the winners of the annual edition, which will be revealed during a ceremony at the iconic Odeon Cinema on June 19. The winners will receive exclusive trophies designed by the renowned artist Fornasetti.

The festival invites prominent personalities from the art and cultural industry to declare the winning and nominated films in 15 award categories. The festival provides a dedicated space for women in screenings, conversations, and projects, fostering a community of talented, strong, and determined women who respect and support each other.
