Les Soirées Gatsby Keep the Party Going at Ritz Paris

F. Scott Fitzgerald knew how to party, and he knew exactly where to do it in Paris. The American writer became a regular at the Ritz Paris during the 1920s, the decade that gave him The Great Gatsby.

A century later, the Ritz turned that history into a party of its own. Les Soirées Gatsby launched in 2025 to celebrate the novel's 100th anniversary and returned this spring. Now, the Ritz has added four more evenings from September through December.

Inside Salon Vendôme, Champagne opens the night before an exclusive dinner inspired by the grand tables of the 1920s. Four jazz musicians, a singer and two dancers take it from dinner to the dance floor, bringing the Jazz Age back to Place Vendôme for another season.

Dinner, Champagne and a Little Fitzgerald

Salon Vendôme has its own nightlife history. The ballroom once welcomed guests of the Ritz Club, the hotel's former nightclub. For Les Soirées Gatsby, ostrich feathers, sequins and gold foliage dress the room for a 1920s dinner dance.

Ritz Paris Chef Jérôme Legras creates an exclusive menu inspired by the grand tables of the decade, while live jazz carries the evening through to 11 p.m.

Fitzgerald knew these rooms well. He drank and stayed at the Ritz during his years in Paris, and today one of the hotel's Prestige Suites carries his name.
