JOIN MIU MIU AT PALAIS D’IÉNA THIS OCTOBER TO EXPLORE THE RICH TAPESTRY OF WOMEN’S STORIES TOLD THROUGH FILM, ART, AND PERFORMANCE.

This October, as part of the broader Art Basel Paris Public Program, Miu Miu is bringing the power of women’s voices to the forefront with its new project, “Tales & Tellers.” Running from October 16 to 20 at the Palais d’Iéna in Paris. The exhibition explores a unique blend of storytelling, art, and film through the lens of women’s experiences.

“Tales & Tellers” is an exciting initiative curated by the visionary interdisciplinary artist Goshka Macuga and Elvira Dyangani Ose, the Director of MACBA (Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona). This project expands on Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales series, which started in 2011 and has featured short films by prominent female filmmakers such as Mati Diop, Miranda July, and Agnès Varda. These films have offered fresh and personal insights into femininity and identity.

The exhibition goes beyond the film series by incorporating artistic interventions from recent Miu Miu runway shows. Works by contemporary artists like Sophia Al-Maria, Cécile B. Evans, and Jeong Geum-hyung will be featured, showcasing how these artists have explored women’s stories through their unique mediums.

At “Tales & Tellers,” you will find an engaging mix of film, live performances, and art installations. The exhibition will showcase screenings of the Women’s Tales films, with actors performing key characters live, adding a dynamic layer to the film projections. This blend of performance and projection aims to create an immersive experience that deepens the audience’s connection to the stories being told. In addition, the exhibition will highlight artistic interventions from Miu Miu’s recent runway shows.

CONVERSATIONS AND INSIGHTS

The exhibition will also feature a series of panel discussions focusing on themes of femininity and storytelling. These panels will bring together directors and artists involved in Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales and artistic interventions, providing insights into their creative processes and the broader conversation about women’s narratives in contemporary art.

PLAN YOUR VISIT

“Tales & Tellers” will be open to the public from October 16 to 20, with free access for all visitors. Online registration for guided tours and panel discussions will begin on October 3, available through miumiu.com.
