Concert Season 2025 Brings Opera, Piano, and Crossover Performances to the Val d’Orcia

August 20, 2025 – Monteverdi Tuscany Concert Series 2025

Hidden among the rolling hills of the Val d’Orcia, Monteverdi Tuscany has long been a cultural stage where history and creativity converge. Its landscape inspires. The architecture preserves memory. Its spirit draws artists. This summer, the Estate takes that vision further with the launch of the Monteverdi Tuscany Concert Series 2025. Here, a Romanesque church, recently restored, turns into a performance space of rare intimacy. Stone arches carry sound. Light moves through ancient walls. Music and silence meet in perfect tension.

From there, the season opens wide. Developed with Stagedoor, the Lindemann Artists Program, and the Metropolitan Opera, the Monteverdi Tuscany Concert Series 2025 sets the tone for the year. It brings acclaimed voices, daring pianists, and bold collaborations into direct dialogue with Tuscany itself. As dusk falls, the valley resonates. Notes drift across vineyards, olive groves, and fields of gold. Step inside for evenings where opera, piano, and even experimental crossover unfold beneath vaulted stone arches.

Monteverdi Tuscany Concert Series 2025 Schedule

27 August 2025

Adolfo Corrado opens the series. The young Italian bass-baritone, who claimed the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World title in 2023, brings a voice of weight and velvet tone. His program with pianist Claudio Marchetti spans classic Italian repertoire and rare gems. Together, they set the season’s bar high, with music crafted for the Romanesque church’s intimate acoustics.

14 September 2025

Anna Goryachova returns to Tuscany at the height of her career. The celebrated mezzo-soprano, known for her Carmen and her striking stage presence, performs alongside pianist Mirca Rosciani. Their recital highlights arias and lieder that reveal both fire and vulnerability. The church becomes a theater of contrasts, where Goryachova’s depth and Rosciani’s clarity converge into a dialogue of dramatic force.

26 September 2025

Pianist Gabriele Strata embodies Italy’s new generation of virtuosi. His program alternates between lyricism and daring complexity, weaving together Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and contemporary Italian works. In the stone nave, his sound grows luminous, each phrase sharpened by the room’s natural resonance. It is a performance that honors tradition yet insists on the relevance of piano music today.

13 October 2025

Soprano Ana Maria Labin steps into the Monteverdi church with pianist Julia Lynch. The Swiss-born singer, known for her crystalline tone, pairs opera arias with art song in a recital shaped by precision and intimacy. Lynch provides the anchor, her phrasing both delicate and expansive. Together, they deliver a night that leans on grace, control, and quiet emotional power.

18 October 2025

The series closes with Duo Improbabile. Virginia Guastella at the piano and Claudio Trotta on drums break all boundaries. Their set fuses classical architecture with the raw pulse of jazz and the drive of rock. In the Romanesque church, the clash becomes alchemy: Bach fragments collide with improvisation, rhythm unsettles harmony, and the space itself seems to expand with sound. It is not a finale of closure, but of new possibilities.
