Tuscany at the Table: Lupaia Launches Winemaker Dinners in Val d’Orcia

Set among golden hills and ancient vines, Lupaia launches a new seasonal series dedicated to the rhythm of Tuscan wine and the land that shapes it. Dinners with the Local Winemakers is a monthly event that invites you to discover the region through a curated pairing of cuisine, territory, and conversation.

Held on the panoramic terrace of Lupaia, the evening begins with an aperitivo at sunset, followed by a four-course tasting menu, paired wines, and live music. Each dinner brings a different local winery to the table to share their story, their practices, and their vision for the future of Tuscan viticulture.

This new initiative aligns closely with Lupaia’s founding philosophy: deep local connection, sustainability, and hospitality with soul. “Each dinner is a moment of encounter and a chance to truly taste the territory.

The format is intimate by design. The evening opens with a finger food aperitivo on the Belvedere terrace, accompanied by live music. As the sun sets, guests are seated for a four-course dinner created by Executive Chef Luca Oriani, known for reinterpreting Tuscan classics with contemporary detail. Each dish is conceived in dialogue with the featured winery, building a layered sensorial journey rooted in place.

Wines That Speak, Menus That Listen

The first dinner, held on June 27, featured Le Berne, a third-generation winery from Montepulciano known for its bold yet elegant Vino Nobile DOCG. The second edition, scheduled for July 25, welcomes Ultima Pietra, a young biodynamic producer from Trequanda, nestled 500 meters above sea level in the UNESCO-protected Val d’Orcia. Founded in 2015, the winery crafts expressive, mineral-driven wines guided by organic principles and a minimal-intervention philosophy.

The menu for each evening is custom-built around the wines. Recent highlights include:

• Eggplant with tomato, mozzarella, and basil cream

• Duck and apricot ravioli

• Chianina beef Wellington with garden beetroot

• Ricotta semifreddo with crunchy almonds and figs
